Managed this absolute beauty of a mirror off a gravel spot in the middle of my swim surrounded by w**d when I turned up to the lake i had seen a few carp showing over that spot.

I decide to go with a pva bag approach using a short D Rig with a pink trimmed down krill wafter
with some 6mm krill pellets and 16mm boilles soaked in the krill cloudy liquid and a bit of the krill powder all from sticky baits.

The rig itself self I tied using 25lb Korda Dark Matter coated braid tied to a size 6 curve shank from j precision hooks with a knotless knot and a Korda D Rig kicker then a micro ring swivel to attach the bait to using floss and a anti tangle sleeve on the leader attachment end.

A near perfect common from my syndicate this weekend coming in at 24.12oz

This one was caught just of a large w**d bed in open water

The tactic I was using was short D Rigs in a pva bag with with a white sticky baits krill wafter chopped down with a hand full of sticky baits krill powder and 6mm pellets and a few boillies.

The D rig was made using 25lb Korda dark matter coated braid & a Korda D rig kicker Korda micro ring swivel for bait attachment

The hooks I was using were micro barbed curve shanks from the J Precision hooks

The marker rod set up is used in all my fishing I’m very particular on what I’m fishing on ( gravel , silt, clay, w**d ) and what depth I’m fishing at.

With the information I’m given from the indications from the marker rod I can accurately apply the right rigs for the right situation.

I use my marker rod to find my spot and clip that up and measure the wraps out on the distance sticks and wrap my spod rod to the same distance, I then recast my market rod out and use the marker float as visual to cast to with my spod rod
to this way it give me maximum accuracy when baiting up my spots.

I had a early wake up call one morning with this beautiful mirror just tipping the scales at 26lb he fell to a the ol faithful D Rig after I had been baiting a margin spot close to 2 small islands.

The baiting tactics i used was hand spread pellet, boillies, crumbed boillies, worm and corn with a good drop of sticky baits cloudy krill liquid.
