So yes – today (22 Aug) marks the 20th birthday (or anniversary) of Luxury Stranger!

Simon York says, “Thank you so much to everyone who’s been on this journey with us. This is a big achievement – Luxury Stranger has survived for twenty years… there have been plenty of dark moments and so many amazing times – and now we’re looking forward to getting the new album out, working on new material, playing shows, and we’re excited for what the future brings… bring on the next twenty!”

Today (4 Aug) marks a year since the release of Simon York’s (Luxury Stranger) fourth solo album, More Than Just Movements!

More Than Just Movements is a record that was made mostly as a coping mechanism for Simon, as a way for him to express or release his feelings regarding the sudden illness and death of his mother exactly a year prior at the age of 66.

A mixture of instrumentals and ‘left field’ commercialism, this record has also helped develop Simon’s writing for yet to be released Luxury Stranger work, as well as his Circles album which was released June 22 this year.
