What an amazing weekend last weekend - wall to wall fun (if not sunshine ☔️) - so many great moments.
Just a few highlights I can remember…
The legend kicking things off and absolutely smashing up The Ring on the Friday night. Amazing hospitality from at Toil Trees and bumping into so many wonderful folks back there amongst so many others.
So good to see and Beppe over at the Laundrette - spent a lot of time hanging in the bar there. Staying dry. And always lovely to catch up with who smashed their set at Bubba Gumma , plus meeting and sharing a giggle or two with and Becca there. Got right to the front for - missed you man!
Finally massive shout to the crew and Oli. Epic weekend all round. Roll on 26.

Busy few days for The Afternoon Service…

1 - We kick off the silent disco in York’s Rowntree Park in a couple of hours. Weather looking pretty good. Come down if you’re in the area.
2- prep well underway for our Loud and Proud event at The Knavesmire next Saturday. More to follow on this.

Sweet few hours in the studio with the super-talented .down.3 yesterday. Lot of fun. We’ve been jamming together (me on the electronics + Rob on the guitars and pedals) for a few years now, and are hopefully getting close to getting our first EPs down, and then perhaps taking it out live. Rob’s got lovely new guitars and amps, and I was seeing how few machines I could get away with yesterday as loads of stuff is still in storage after the house move. Anyway, we reckon it has legs, even if they are a bit wonky😵‍💫😀

A few words about who we’ll be dancing for on Sunday at the micklegate SOCIAL

Jessie's Fund is a small national charity based in York who help children with complex needs or life-limiting illness to communicate through music. The charity was set up in memory of Jessica George, who sadly died from a brain tumour in a children's hospice. From this, her parents set up Jessie's Fund to provide music therapy in children's hospice and give a voice to children and young people who may not otherwise be able to express themselves. Now, the charity also runs creative music projects in specialist settings for children with special educational needs as well as helping organisations and families to access the transformational power of music therapy.

There are still a few tickets left if are thinking of coming down. Be great to see ya!

This time next we’ll be getting our groove on to some sweet sweet music @ the Micklegate Social, all in aid of the awesome Jessie’s Fund.
