One of the reasons we fell in love with this new build is the biggest two bedrooms both have a walk in wardrobe set up, it’s such a clever use of the dead space that would have been left next to the en-suite (to the right of this view!) but I don’t show it too much so throwing it back to when we wallpapered in here! We don’t often see these in new builds in the UK, whereas I know in the US a closet like this is pretty normal? I do wonder why we don’t see them more as it’s so useful!

This is our main bedroom walk in which had been kitted out with some storage boxes and rails, so all we needed to do was add some wallpaper and it was done! Being able to close the door on the mess is a dream, and we’re now planning what we do with the matching storage room in the spare room (with the forest wallpaper!) to maximise our storage and give us options to switch our winter or summer wardrobes out. Thinking potentially an Ikea hack, let’s see!

Of course we went for a Sandberg wallpaper (love their wallpapers!) and it was an easy one day project and matches our green bedroom perfectly 💚

Not getting over the impact of these tiles anytime soon 🥰

Sorry gang, you’re going to be seeing a lot more of these tiles after the mammoth task that was cutting and installing them. Given we started in January I still can’t quite believe the view when I walk in to make a cuppa, to see them finished and grouted feels so bizarre (but brilliant!).

Making this new build feel more homely and us is taking so much time, more than I ever thought, and I really do appreciate every one of you sticking around and cheering us on, so thank you!

Things we’ve done so far to get here:
- had the gloss grey kitchen wrapped by
- replaced the old LVT with to add warmth
- DIY tiled the splashback
- replaced the doors with Odense (those original orange ones were not the one!)
- switched all the switches and sockets to
- added a hot tap from Fohen
- added a faux skirting panelling to the bottom of the room for colour 🧡 (although you can’t see that here)

Next up… it has to be doing something with the extractor fan we knock our heads on all the time!!

As always, shout if you have any Qs, and hope you all have a lovely evening!

The best invention for a wallpapered room 😍 head over to the room reveal real to see if you can spot them from afar…

Especially in a new build all the little details really make the difference, and these Corston switches have done just that!

You’ll need to make sure you have enough off cuts to find a little repeat to make this work, but if you can, I absolutely recommend to let your wallpaper be the star of the show 😍

These ones are from Corston as we’ve got Corston throughout the house already and love the quality, but Dunelm have also just started doing one too as a great budget friendly option. Let me know if you need any links!

What do you think?

Whoever decided to forget the teaspoon section when designing a cutlery drawer needs to take a long hard look at themselves 😂

Part 3 of finding small things to make our new, new build home work better for us 🏡 this time with the help of some drawer inserts that work a TREAT.
