We have been featured in the English Riviera Magazine and seeing Harbour Rise and the people who make it so special celebrated in this way has honestly made us so happy. 💛

The feature is called 'More Than Care, A Community You Can Be Part Of' and we could not think of a better way to describe what Harbour Rise means to us and to the people around us. This place has always been about more than what happens inside these four walls. It is about belonging, about being part of something bigger, and about the ties that connect us all.

Our amazing staff provide fantastic care, and the community links that surround us make our home even more special. We are so grateful to Torbay Communities for everything they do to help us stay connected and bring people together. With so many activities happening and so many wonderful people coming through our doors, every day brings something to smile about.

So much of what makes our home special comes directly from the people outside our doors. A massive thank you to the wonderful pupils from Galmpton C of E Primary School who visit us and fill our home with noise, energy and the most wonderful laughter. Watching those friendships grow between our residents and those children is something we never take for granted. It reminds us every single week of what really matters.

We feel so lucky to call Paignton home. Thank you to this community for everything you give us, and thank you to the English Riviera Magazine for taking the time to tell our story.

⚽ Come on England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

This evening we’ll be enjoying something special together here at Harbour Rise as England begin their FIFA World Cup 2026 journey against Croatia.

We’ll be gathering for the 9pm kick-off, settling in comfortably, and watching the match together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. There will be flags at the ready, plenty of cheering (and maybe a bit of friendly debate about the decisions too!).

It’s a lovely chance for residents to come together, share the excitement, and enjoy the evening as part of our community here at the home.

We hope England get off to a great start — and most importantly, we hope everyone enjoys the match!

Pop in to Harbour Rise Care Home from 2.30 to 3.30pm for a lovely cuppa and a game with friendly faces. We have got jigsaws, draughts, dominoes, Scrabble, chess and more, or feel free to bring along your own favourite!

It is a fabulous afternoon of fun, laughter and making new friends, and absolutely everyone is welcome. Yes, that means you! Whether you are 8 or 80, young or young at heart, come on in and join the fun.

Yesterday we had a wonderful time baking and decorating cakes here at Harbour Rise Care Home, and the results were truly impressive! Our residents and staff put so much love and creativity into everything they made, and it was a joy to see everyone coming together to get involved.

Today the celebrations are in full swing as we enjoy a very special Big Afternoon Tea, complete with our very own birthday cake fit for a King! There is nothing quite like gathering together over a cup of tea and a slice of cake, and the atmosphere here at Harbour Rise has been absolutely wonderful. Smiles all round!

And the fun does not stop there, because on Monday we have a fantastic Royalty Quiz to look forward to, which is sure to be a brilliant way to round off our King Charles' Birthday celebrations in style.

It has been such a lovely few days here at Harbour Rise Care Home, and we are so proud of the effort everyone has put in to make these celebrations so special. Here is to our wonderful residents, our amazing staff, and of course, a very Happy Birthday to King Charles! 🎂👑

"🏆⚽ It's here - the World Cup is FINALLY kicking off, and we couldn't be more excited here at Harbour Rise!

We're all rallying behind England and wishing the lads every bit of luck as they go for glory. Come on England - bring it home! 🦁🦁🦁

To mark the occasion in style, we've treated ourselves to a fantastic selection of craft beers from the brilliant Bays Brewery - the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful game with great company.

Here's to England, here's to great football, and here's to making some wonderful memories together over the coming weeks!

💙 CARERS WEEK 2026 | 8th - 14th June 💙

Today we are hosting our Carer & Cared For Peer Support Group, in partnership with Torbay Communities! This week is Carers Week, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness of the 5.8 million unpaid carers across the UK who give their time, love and energy every single day to look after a family member, friend or neighbour. This year's theme is Building Carer Friendly Communities, and that is exactly what we aim to do.

Our relaxed, friendly sessions are designed for those caring for a loved one at home. While carers enjoy a cup of tea, a slice of our homemade drizzle cake, conversation and mutual support, their loved ones take part in gentle activities in a safe, warm environment with our team.

It is a chance to connect, share experiences and enjoy a little breathing space together. Whether it is your first time or you have joined us before, you will be warmly welcomed.

If you are caring for someone at home, or know someone who is, please share this post. You do not have to do it alone.

What a great day to be at Harbour Rise! 🌞✈️

We are absolutely loving the English Riviera Airshow today and the excitement here is building ahead of the RAF Red Arrows display at 12pm!

How lucky are we to have this incredible show right on our doorstep? Our residents and team are making the most of every moment watching the skies above us. 🔴⬜🔵

A huge thank you to everyone involved in putting on such a spectacular event for our community to enjoy!

🐴💙 Today at Harbour Rise Care Home in Roundham, Paignton, we had a very special visitor — The Adventures Of Patrick The Pony ! 💙🐴

Patrick spent time with both our day care visitors and our full-time residents, bringing smiles, comfort, and lots of happy memories along the way. He even visited some residents in their rooms, making sure nobody missed out on the magic of his visit. ✨

Animal therapy can have such a positive impact on wellbeing, helping to reduce anxiety, encourage conversation, and bring comfort and companionship.

For many of our residents, meeting Patrick was especially meaningful as some used to own and care for horses themselves. 🐎💭 The memories and stories shared today were truly heartwarming.

A huge thank you to Patrick for spreading so much joy throughout Harbour Rise today! 🥰
