🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #1 – Pat Sharp 🎙

If you tuned into The Weekend Vibe on Friday nights at Waves Radio, you were in for something special. Hosted by the legendary Pat Sharp, the show quickly became one of the station’s biggest attractions. Fans would even gather outside the station in hopes of spotting him, but Pat remained a mystery — a larger-than-life presence heard but never seen in Peterhead.

Pat Sharp wasn’t just any DJ; he was a bona fide celebrity, known across the UK for his work on Fun House, as well as his long-standing career in TV and radio. His show being on Waves Radio brought a level of star power the station had never seen before. Up until then, Waves primarily catered to an older audience, but Pat’s dynamic Friday night show attracted a younger crowd, becoming the perfect soundtrack for listeners gearing up for the weekend. Tens of thousands tuned in, cementing Pat Sharp’s status as the king of Friday nights in Peterhead.

💽 Kenny’s Vision for Waves 💽
Waves Radio was, at its heart, a local station, carefully curated by its founder, Kenny King. Known for his hands-on approach, Kenny was a master of crafting radio that resonated with listeners. He was never afraid to shake things up, and his vision for Waves Radio often meant making bold decisions.

If Kenny felt the line-up wasn’t quite right, he didn’t shy away from making changes, always with the goal of giving listeners what they wanted. It’s believed that The Weekend Vibe - as with Totally 80s - may have been sent to Kenny on CD in its early days. Whether physically present or not, Pat’s influence was undeniable, contributing significantly to Waves Radio’s success during its peak years.

🎧 Where Is Pat Now? 🎧
Today, Pat Sharp continues to thrive in the entertainment industry. He remains active as a DJ, presenter, and event host, frequently appearing at retro music festivals, corporate events, and nostalgia-focused gatherings. Pat has embraced his 80s and 90s legacy, bringing joy to fans who grew up with his iconic shows. Beyond live appearances, Pat stays connected with audiences through digital platforms, podcasts, and other media, ensuring that his voice and charm remain as relevant as ever.

✨ A Star Who Made Waves ✨
Pat Sharp was the only true celebrity to grace Waves Radio, and his impact on the station was monumental. He turned Friday nights into something extraordinary, indirectly contributing to Waves Radio’s rise to prominence. While Kenny King remains the local legend, Pat’s national profile and polished talent made him the perfect star to lead the charge for a younger, vibrant audience.

It’s fair to say that without Pat Sharp, Waves Radio might never have reached the heights it did. He wasn’t just a DJ; he was an event — a name that drew tens of thousands of listeners and helped define an era of Waves Radio that fans still remember fondly to this day.

đź’Ľ The Tough Competition for the Top Spot đź’Ľ

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #2 – Kenny King 🎙

If one name defines Waves Radio, it’s Kenny King. The man behind the mic, the mastermind behind the station, and the longest-running breakfast show host in the country, Kenny is the very soul of local radio in Peterhead and the North East. His show, The Brekky Thing, wasn’t just a radio program — it was a cornerstone of daily life for thousands. Mornings haven’t been the same since Kenny hung up his headphones, but his impact endures.

đź’˝ The Visionary Behind Waves đź’˝
Kenny’s journey began long before Waves Radio officially launched. He organized nine Restricted Service broadcasts, paving the way for the station’s creation. In 1994, Waves finally hit the airwaves, brought to life by Kenny’s grit and determination, with significant help from Bill McLean. Together, Kenny and Bill co-founded the station and ran it side by side, pouring their energy into making Waves a success. However, differing visions for the station’s future led to a pivotal moment — Kenny ultimately bought Bill’s stake in the business, becoming the sole director of the company and charting the station’s path forward on his own terms.

Running a local station wasn’t easy, but Kenny made it work — not just by presenting. He didn’t simply do his show and leave; he was at the station all day, often working longer hours than anyone else. From securing advertisers to fixing equipment, hosting meetings, and even cleaning up the studio when no one else would, Kenny wore many hats to keep Waves running. Life was beautiful.

🎧 A Legacy of Loyalty and Love for Music 🎧
Kenny’s passion for music was the foundation of Waves Radio. His tastes shaped the station’s identity, from The Beatles and Motown to Roy Orbison and Otis Redding. Shows like Sixties on a Sunday took listeners on nostalgic trips back to the golden era of music, creating unforgettable memories for fans.

But Kenny’s contribution went beyond the music. He built a community around Waves Radio, with loyal listeners affectionately known as the Brekky Bunch. This wasn’t just a fan club — it was a movement. Fans often visited Kenny and were made welcome. From charity events to exclusive gatherings, Kenny united people through his love of radio and his unwavering commitment to his audience.

🪄 Kenny’s Contribution to Local Communities 🪄
Kenny King’s impact extended far beyond the airwaves, leaving a lasting legacy across the North East. Recognizing the challenges faced by smaller businesses, Kenny made radio advertising accessible and affordable, enabling local companies to promote their services without the prohibitive costs of larger city stations. This initiative helped countless businesses reach new customers and thrive within their communities.

In addition to his efforts for local businesses, Kenny and his wife Sylvia were passionate fundraisers for Cancer Research. Through their Wavettes team, they organized events and campaigns that raised significant funds for the cause, earning them numerous recognition for their dedication and hard work. Kenny’s contributions to the community were a testament to his commitment to supporting those around him and creating a positive impact far beyond his station’s reach.

🎙 Facing the Challenges of Change 🎙
Running Waves Radio was never easy, and the challenges only grew as the radio landscape changed. Local radio stations struggled to compete with the rise of digital platforms, streaming services, and major networks. Despite these pressures, Waves endured, proving its resilience and Kenny’s genius. The fact that both Waves Radio and its rival, NECR, lasted 24 years is a testament to the incredible dedication of Kenny King and John Dean, NECR’s founder.

💥 A Visionary’s Retirement Saga 💥
In the summer of 2021, Kenny King’s surprise on-air retirement announcement from Waves Radio reportedly disrupted an ongoing sale process. Facing pressure to finalize the deal from the prospective buyers, it's believed Kenny grew frustrated when changes to the station’s format were made, even as he retained legal ownership. Ultimately, he reclaimed control of the station, a move seen by some as abrupt but by others as a reflection of his dedication to its legacy.

After months of tension and mixed reactions from supporters and critics, Kenny sold the station in a swift deal to a British businessman. However, under new ownership, Waves Radio ceased broadcasting within two years, marking a bittersweet end to a turbulent chapter in the station’s history.

đź“» The Future of Kenny King đź“»
Today, the 101.2 FM frequency continues to broadcast under new ownership, but the majority of Kenny’s former team remain notably absent. Many of those who worked closely with Kenny are said to remain fiercely loyal to him.

It's time, many say, for Kenny to make waves again around the coast. Until that day comes, Kenny’s legacy as the King of Waves Radio remains unmatched, a shining example of what local radio can achieve when driven by passion, dedication, and a love for the people it serves.

Stay tuned as we reveal the #1 Star of Waves Radio — but it’s safe to say, Kenny King’s story is one we’ll be talking about for years to come. 🎶 Share your favourite Waves memories below! 👇

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #3 – James Reid 🎙

When it comes to Waves Radio legends, James Reid deserves his spot high on the list. Although he wasn’t a full-time presenter, James brought an undeniable spark to the station whenever he was on air. Known for his knowledge of classic tunes, his shows were a delightful escape for listeners, blending great music with unforgettable storytelling.

đź“» From the Countryside to the Airwaves đź“»
Hailing from the serene Aberdeenshire countryside, James made the trek to Peterhead to sprinkle some magic onto the Waves airwaves. Outside the studio, he was a seasoned entertainer, packing dancefloors across the shire with his legendary discos. Whether at a local village hall or a buzzing nightclub, James had a knack for reading the crowd, spinning tracks that kept everyone dancing till dawn.

🎶 A Love for the Classics 🎶
While many DJs were chasing the latest chart hits, James stuck to what he loved: the classics. His shows featured hits spanning the 60s to the 90s, and he had an unmatched ability to weave trivia and personal anecdotes into his sets. Listeners tuned in for more than just music — they came for the experience.

It may come as a surprise to many but James wasn’t just a local DJ — he was apparently in high demand across Europe. Some say James was so busy with these unprompted gigs that he’d vanish from the Waves studios for months on end. Where did he go? Some say he was jet-setting to places like Café Del Mar for DJing gigs, while others claim he was just avoiding Kenny King’s attempts to convince him to come back on air.

🏆 A Tension-Filled Rivalry with NECR 🏆
James was such a hit that even rival station NECR (North East Community Radio) had an eye on him. The rivalry between the stations was no secret, and it’s said that Waves Radio’s founder, Kenny King, worked hard — and paid handsomely — to keep James on the Waves team. Kenny knew that James’ loyal fanbase might follow him if he ever made the jump, and it was a risk he wasn’t willing to take.

The man behind NECR was John Deans, a name that holds significance not only for NECR but also for Waves Radio. He was one of the original figures involved in the planning stages for a new commercial radio station. When John launched NECR in 1994, he beat Kenny King to the punch in the race to get a station up and running. James Reid played an interesting role in this rivalry as he worked with both Waves and NECER over the years. John Deans, who had worked tirelessly to keep the station going, was forced to close its doors in 2018 when local advertising revenue dried up and the station’s financial footing became unsustainable

🎤 Stories That Made the Show 🎤
James wasn’t just a DJ — he was an entertainer in the truest sense. His radio shows weren’t just playlists; they were performances. Between songs, he’d amuse listeners with tales from his life, some so outlandish they left listeners wondering what was fact and what was fiction. Listeners still remember his shows fondly to this day.

🎧 Life After Waves Radio 🎧
These days, James has stepped away from the limelight, leaving behind both his DJing and broadcasting careers. His life now is more private, though there are whispers of a comeback. Some believe he’s waiting for Kenny King’s long-rumoured return to radio before making his move.

🏞 An Unforgettable Legacy 🏞
Though he’s no longer on air, James’ contributions to Waves Radio are fondly remembered. From his storytelling to his musical expertise, he was a key part of what made the station so beloved. And for those who were lucky enough to see him DJ live, his name will forever be associated with unforgettable nights on the dancefloor.

Stay tuned as we climb higher in our countdown of the Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio! Who’s next? Tell us your James Reid memories below! 👇

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #4 – Brian Daniel 🎙

When you think of Waves Radio, you can’t help but think of Brian Daniel. From late morning to early afternoon, Brian was the voice that became the soundtrack of so many people’s days across the region. Humble and grounded, Brian never sought the spotlight, but he undeniably became the most beloved voice on the airwaves, with only Kenny King rivaling his popularity.

đź“» A Surprise Star đź“»
Brian was one of the original team members given the chance to shine at Waves Radio, and his rise to fame came as a surprise to him. He never set out to be the star of the station, but his natural ability to connect with listeners made him an instant favorite. His AM2PM show was a daily event for many, and listeners would pause whatever they were doing just to tune in. Brian had the rare ability to make you feel like you were part of the conversation — whether he was cracking a joke, giving a weather update, or sharing plans for the weekend.

Brian's role at Waves went beyond just presenting. He was also said to be involved in shaping the station’s image — working closely with Kenny King in the early days to perfect the stations sound. It’s possible that Brian had many crucial behind-the-scenes duties.

🎤 The Sandi Thom Interview 🎤
Brian’s claim to fame was his interview with local singer Sandi Thom. Now, some say Kenny wanted the interview but somehow it was Brian who won the opportunity. And thank goodness he did. Not only did he get Sandi Thom to perform live in the studio, but he also managed to coax some real gems out of her. A few songs, a little gossip, and the kind of intimate conversation that only Brian could pull off.

âš˝ A Passion for Local Sport âš˝
In addition to his music and interviews, Brian had a deep passion for local sport, particularly football. His Saturday morning show became the go-to place for all things football in the region, where he would chat with managers, provide match updates, and discuss the topics from The Broch to Balmoor and Pitodrie. Kenny King was reportedly not thrilled with the growing emphasis on sports coverage with Kenny clearly shaping Waves Radio as an oldies music station first and foremost.

Brian’s passion for promoting local sports saw him promoted to the Sports Mix team which had various members including Sports Editor, Glenn Moir. The pair were regularly heard on Waves during Saturday afternoons, providing live updates from games across the region.

🎧 The Mystery of Brian’s Exit 🎧
Brian’s exit from Waves Radio remains a topic of intrigue. Rather than a dramatic departure, it seemed like the natural conclusion to his time at the station. Brian had peaked — his legacy was secured, and the pressure of being Peterhead’s most popular man likely left him wanting to step away for a bit. Fans were disappointed by his departure.

đź’ The Future of Brian and Waves Radio đź’
Today, while Brian has kept a relatively low profile with his current whereabouts unknown. Brian helped steer the Waves daytime ship for almost 20 years and a return would be welcome.

As we continue our countdown of Waves Radio’s Top 10 Stars, stay tuned to find out who’s next, and don’t forget to share your favorite AM2PM memories below! 👇

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #5 – TC 🎙

When you think about what made Waves Radio truly special, TC’s name always comes up. He wasn’t even a traditional presenter — he was the station’s beloved “phonewatch”. His role, largely behind the scenes, involved answering calls and keeping competitions running smoothly, but TC’s natural charm, humour, and warmth made him just as popular as any on-air presenter. At other stations, such a rise would be unthinkable, but at Waves, TC became a star.

📞 From Phonewatch to Fan Favourite 📞
TC worked alongside Kenny King on the Brekky Show, the longest-running morning show in the North East. While Kenny may have been the voice of the show, it was TC who became the heart. His friendly, down-to-earth style connected with listeners in a way that made everyone feel like part of the Waves family.

TC’s role was pivotal — visiting the Fish Market for live landings, taking calls, organizing competitions, and keeping everything flowing seamlessly. The giveaways became iconic, from the popular Waves Radio polo shirts to Brekky mugs and the latest CDs. TC’s competitions had a special magic. He had a knack for making even the losers feel like winners, and the whispers of “consolation prizes” handed out in secret. Who wouldn't want the runner up Waves pen?

đź’¬ The Duo of TC and Kenny đź’¬
The relationship between TC and Kenny was electric, like a classic comedy double act. They balanced each other perfectly — Kenny brought his big personality and showmanship, while TC added warmth, relatability, and a touch of mischief. The highlight of the show was always at 8:45 a.m., when TC announced the daily prize winner. His personal chats with listeners were a signature touch, leaving everyone feeling like a part of the show.

As Waves grew, TC became one of its most beloved figures, with some even suggesting he overshadowed Kenny in audience affection. It’s no surprise that when Kenny retired, TC was never quite the same.

🎙 The Post-Kenny Years 🎙
After Kenny stepped back, Waves Radio underwent a series of damaging changes. New management and formats failed to recapture the magic of the original Brekky Show. TC was paired with a new host, but the chemistry wasn’t there, and the new show struggled to maintain the unbeatable charm of Brekky.

However, TC’s spark returned when Ralph McDonald made a surprise comeback. Ralph, a fan favourite from the late 1990s, brought a fresh and unpredictable dynamic to TC’s role. Together, they laughed, joked, and brought back the format of the old Brekky show, creating something familiar. Listeners who stuck with Waves through its turbulent years found a glimmer of the old magic in these final broadcasts.

🌀 The Decline of Waves Radio 🌀
Despite TC and Ralph’s best efforts, Waves Radio’s decline was unstoppable. Changes in management, programming, and format alienated long-time listeners. The station eventually faded out, and it wasn’t until its unofficial replacement began broadcasting in May 2024 that the community realized just how much Waves was missed.

đź“» A Legacy Still Felt đź“»
Today, TC remains a local favourite around Peterhead. With locals clamouring for Waves Radio’s revival, it’s clear that the station — and TC’s unforgettable contributions — left an indelible mark on the community.

Could Kenny and TC reunite one day? Only time will tell. In the meantime, TC’s legacy as Waves Radio’s one-of-a-kind phonewatch star is secure.

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #6 – Sandy Watt 🎙

When you think of country music radio in the UK, one name stands taller than the rest: Sandy Watt. Not only was he a cornerstone of Waves Radio, but he was also arguably the biggest star of country radio across the nation. Sandy's unmistakable cowboy-style voice was the perfect match for his show, The Country Highway, and made him larger than life — bigger even than the show itself.

đź’˝ From Day One to Country Icon đź’˝
Sandy was with Waves Radio from the very beginning, back in 1990, when the station broadcasted from its humble beginnings at the Lido in Peterhead. Alongside station owner Kenny King, Sandy celebrated Waves’ early days with a party spirit, the two forming a bond before loosing touch.

Thankfully, Sandy made his triumphant return to Waves in December 1998 and was ready to cement his legacy. His deep love of authentic country music made his show a beacon for true fans of the genre. His knowledge of country classics and his warm, charismatic delivery created a magical listening experience. However, as Waves grew, it’s rumoured that Kenny never actually saw Sandy during his legendary evening shows — Kenny was likely in bed long before The Country Highway hit the airwaves.

🎧 The King of Requests 🎧
Sandy’s Country Highway wasn’t just a show; it was a movement. It surely held the record for the most listener requests in Waves Radio history. Unlike Brekky, which required advance submissions, Sandy kept it personal — listeners called in live and spoke with his assistant Edna, and their requests were on-air within the hour. It was this immediacy, paired with Sandy’s undeniable talent, that made him the undisputed ruler of the airwaves.

✨ A Global Country Ambassador ✨
Beyond Waves Radio, Sandy was an ambassador for country music in the UK. He brought the sounds of Nashville and the Irish country scene to Peterhead, often leveraging his connections to introduce big-name stars to the station. His relationships with country legends were important — particularly his friendship with George Hamilton IV, who opened the door for Sandy to visit the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. It was there that Sandy experienced a career highlight: meeting his hero, Hank Snow. Stories like these showcased Sandy’s standing in the world of country music. He wasn’t just a fan — he was part of the country music family.

đź“» A Lasting Legacy đź“»
Sandy’s time at Waves wasn’t without challenges. As the station expanded, competition grew, and other presenters eyed his coveted slot. But Sandy’s bond with Kenny King ensured his place at the top as Kenny regarded Sandy as the gold standard, his voice and charisma unmatched.

Eventually, Sandy stepped away from the airwaves, leaving fans wondering where he might be. Sandy’s contributions to Waves Radio and country music broadcasting are irreplaceable. Wherever he is now, one thing’s certain: Sandy Watt will always be living the country dream.

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #7 – Alex Cameron 🎙

It’s time to celebrate a true local legend with one of the most unforgettable voices to ever grace the Waves Radio airwaves. If you’ve lived in Peterhead, you know Alex Cameron. And if you haven’t, chances are you’d still have no idea what he was saying — but that was part of the charm.

đź’˝ The Voice of Memories đź’˝
Alex was the beloved presenter behind two iconic shows: Fabulous 50s and Sixties on Sunday. Whether he was taking listeners on a trip down rock 'n' roll memory lane or celebrating the vibrant tunes of the swinging sixties, Alex made the music feel alive. His shows weren’t just playlists; they were a lifeline for many, particularly older audiences. Fabulous 50s became a cherished show for care homes across the North East, bringing a spark of joy to the days of many listeners.

His unpolished, no-nonsense style was rare on commercial radio and precisely what made Waves Radio so unique. Alex wasn’t about flash or gimmicks — he was authentic. He wasn’t the most professional, but he was undoubtedly one of the most respected presenters at the station.

🎧 From the 50s to the 60s 🎧
Kenny King, Waves Radio’s owner, saw something special in Alex. Initially, Sixties on Sunday was Kenny’s own project, but something was missing. Enter Alex, whose people-first approach and natural rapport transformed the show. The duo shared hosting duties, with Kenny bringing his encyclopedic knowledge of the era and Alex offering shout-outs, requests, and a relaxed conversational style. It was the perfect blend of professionalism and personality, making the show one of Waves Radio’s biggest hits.

đź“» The Rebel of Waves đź“»
Alex didn’t shy away from speaking his mind. Known for his sharp opinions, he often clashed with station decisions, particularly regarding the evolving daytime playlists in later years where he was heard multiple times mentioing behind the scences changes. Yet, his boldness only added to his legend. Alex’s connection with his audience was unmatched, and his legacy at Waves represents the station’s ethos: giving a voice to the people and reflecting the community’s heart.

✨ Still a Legend ✨
Alex and Kenny remain close friends, it's believed with Alex not ruling out a comeback if Kenny is back behind the desk. Until then, his fans can only dream of another Fabulous 50s or Sixties on Sunday.

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #8 – Glynn Jaine 🎙

Some stars shine bright and fast, and Glynn Jaine’s time at Waves Radio is proof of that. Though his stint at the station was short-lived, it was nothing less than different. Glynn brought charisma, wit, and a personal touch to the airwaves, quickly becoming a fan favourite and cementing his place in Waves Radio history.

đź’˝ A Star in the Making đź’˝

It's said that Glynn’s meteoric rise at Waves Radio started when he crossed paths with the legendary Kenny King at a mysterious industry event. Days later, Glynn was announced as part of the Waves family.

For a station known for its sixties repertoire, Glynn's eighties obsession was a bold departure. Bands like Erasure became a staple on his playlist, dominating the Waves AirPlay Chart. Fans loved his unapologetic eighties vibe, even dubbing his short-lived reign as "The Glynn Era." For a brief period, the station's branding unofficially morphed into "Glynn Radio," a testament to his larger-than-life personality and various shows he becomes associated with.

🎧 The Charm of Glynn Jaine 🎧

On air, Glynn was unstoppable. His quick wit, self-deprecating humour, and cheeky charm won him legions of fans with his fan club affectionately dubbed "Glynn's Gems" which was reportedly more popular than the Brekky Bunch, though it seems unthinkable. Glynn was always happy to sign merchandise according to his fans who won competitions during his shows. He was known to be extremely approachable and liked to think of everyone as a friend.

It’s widely believed that Glynn was the undisputed champion of the station’s kitchen. Whether it was brewing the perfect cup of tea or delivering pancakes, Glynn took pride in ensuring the team was well-fed and caffeinated. It's not unlikely that by the time Glynn was on air he was high on caffeine and it's this energy that provided his shows with something special.

đź“» The Rise and The Departure đź“»

Glynn’s growing popularity led to whispers in his fan club that he was eyeing the coveted breakfast slot but sadly, his dream was never realised, and Glynn’s larger-than-life personality eventually clashed with the station’s more traditional leanings. Convinced he was destined for more than Peterhead could offer, Glynn parted ways with Waves Radio in a departure some described as bittersweet.

Heading south, Glynn continued his rise. By 2024, he was crowned Best Male Presenter at the Hospital Radio Awards, proving that his time at Waves was just the beginning of a stellar career.

✨ The Glynn Legacy ✨

While much of Glynn’s off-air role at Waves remains shrouded in mystery, those who were involved at Waves Radio recall that it wasn’t just a workplace; it was a family, and Kenny made sure everyone felt part of it with his team often spotted at his legendary annual disco night at the Masons in Peterhead to share the spotlight. According to Glynn's fans, the night when he was advertised for saw tickets selling out in record time with attendees raving about the disco being like a live version of The Afternoon Hit Mix.

Glynn wasn’t just a presenter — he was a phenomenon. Nicknamed “The Hobbit from the Shire” his dedication knew no bounds. Legend has it he journeyed weekly from his English countryside home to Peterhead for his shows, only to head back south for the weekends. This grueling routine cemented his status as a man truly devoted to his craft — and his fans.

🎙 The Top 10 Stars of Waves Radio: #9 – Brian Easson 🎙

When you think of Saturday mornings on Waves Radio, one name comes to mind: Brian Easson and his iconic Happening Saturday show. From the moment the first track spun to his cheerful sign-off, Brian brought joy, energy, and a touch of mischief to the airwaves, becoming a Saturday morning institution in Peterhead.

đź’˝ The Early Days đź’˝
Brian’s journey with Waves began in 1995, before it was full time, around the time when the station set up shop on Broad Street. With a budding passion for radio, he was invited to host a few guest segments during the Peterhead Scottish Week celebrations. Those guest spots quickly turned into something more permanent, and as Brian puts it, “I must have done something right!” From there, he became a staple of the Waves family, embodying the station’s ethos of providing opportunities for local talent that bigger city stations wouldn’t even consider.

🌟 The Saturday Star 🌟
As the first local presenter to make our countdown, Brian is a shining example of what made Waves Radio so special. With Kenny King mentoring him, Brian quickly found his stride, spinning the best tracks from the 70s, 80s, and 90s while injecting a relaxed, feel-good vibe that had listeners coming back week after week. Off-air, Brian served the community as a Fire Brigade Officer, often using his platform to raise awareness about fire safety, proving that his contributions went far beyond just music.

đź“» Disappearing Acts đź“»
Brian’s tenure wasn’t without its quirks. Over the years, listeners couldn’t help but notice his mysterious disappearances. One week he’d be entertaining the masses, and the next… gone! Theories abounded: was he on a Fire Brigade mission? A world tour of vinyl treasure troves? Brian never spilled the beans, but every time he returned to the mic, it felt like the show came alive again.

🎧 A Local Legend 🎧
Brian’s legacy at Waves Radio is a testament to Kenny King’s vision: creating a space for local voices to flourish. While Happening Saturday may have cemented Brian’s place in Peterhead radio history, it’s his genuine connection with listeners and dedication to the community that truly sets him apart. His story reflects the heart of Waves Radio—local talent, nurtured by opportunity, delivering something special to the airwaves.
