As we come to the end of this incredible chapter, I, Karen Day, feel it’s only right that since Graham Barron had the first words when the station launched… I should have the final words now that we’re closing……..

It’s been our dream for years to launch our own station. From sitting in the car briefing Mike on what we wanted for the jingles, to the endless calls with Neil for advice — it’s been a bumpy journey. Not the road we imagined, but what a ride it turned out to be.

Thank you to the presenters who gave up their time, to Gavin, and to our not so silent investors Bob and Janice.

Your support, passion and belief kept us going through every twist and turn.

And in the words of Kelly Clarkson…
“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”

Thank you to everyone who listened, supported, and believed in Coast Radio Scotland.

Today marks the final ever Request Show with Rich, Tev & Moley — and the team will be giving it the send-off our listeners truly deserve.

Expect all the usual fun, banter, music and madness that has made Saturdays on Coast so special. This week’s Local Lowdown features Brenda from Aberdeen Foyer, joining the lads in the studio for one last interview.

“Rich, Tev and Moley just want to take a moment to say a massive thank you to everyone who has tuned in, sent messages, taken part, and supported our shows over the years. Your energy, banter and enthusiasm have meant the world to us.

A huge thank you as well to all of our sponsors for their support, and to everyone behind the scenes who helped make Coast Radio what it is. And a special shoutout to Bob, Janice and Gavin for their dedication and for giving us the chance to live out our dream every Saturday. We’re genuinely so grateful.”

While The Request Show is ending on Coast, this isn’t the end for the team. Rich, Tev & Moley will be launching their own podcast — The Good, The Bad & The Banter — with recording starting in the coming weeks.

Official Statement – Coast Radio

It’s with a very heavy heart that we announce that Coast Radio will cease broadcasting at midnight on Sunday, 30th November 2025.

This decision has not been taken lightly. Despite every effort behind the scenes, ongoing operational and financial pressures have made it impossible for Coast Radio to continue in a sustainable way. As a small, independent station, we have always operated with passion first and resources second — but sadly, that is no longer enough to keep the station viable.

We want to express our deepest thanks to every listener, sponsor and advertiser who believed in us. Your support, enthusiasm and loyalty turned a small local idea into something we will always be incredibly proud of.

We also want to pay a sincere and heartfelt tribute to the talented team of presenters who brought Coast Radio to life every single day. Their energy, personality and commitment made the station what it was — warm, engaging and unmistakably personal. They put their hearts into every show, and we are incredibly grateful for the joy, character and connection they delivered to our audience.

Coast Radio’s time may have been short, but it was genuinely special. We’re grateful for every message, every request, every laugh, and every moment shared with us along the way.
