๐ฆ HOLSWORTHY SHOW ๐ฆ
Morning all! ๐ Sorry for the delay in posting, our internet speed hit rock bottom yesterday - making editing and uploading photos nigh on impossible! ๐ค But with a brighter start to the day, we're back up and running again! ๐
It was a mixed day of sunshine and (very) sharp showers at the Holsworthy and Stratton Agricultural Show, but that didn't deter a strong turnout of competitors and spectators around the rings - it's always encouraging to see so much public support for our farmers and food producers! ๐ฅฐ๐ค
The interbreed judges were given plenty to think about with some really top-notch stock on show, and after much deliberation they awarded their supreme prizes to the following deserving winners:
๐ฅ SUPREME BEEF CHAMPION: Trewint Jill 630, a March 2019-born South Devon cow with her April 2025-born heifer calf at foot, bred and exhibited by Peter and Ashley Rowe of Trewint Herd of Pedigree South Devon Cattle, Menheniot, Liskeard;
๐ฅ SUPREME BEEF PAIRS: British Simmentals: March 2024-born bull Tregnether Rambo and March 2023-born heifer Tregnether Pixie, bred and exhibited by Stephanie Hooper and David Reeves of St Columb, Newquay;
๐ฅ SUPREME DAIRY CHAMPION: Thuborough Jazz Damsel VG88, an August 2021-born Holstein second calver, bred and exhibited by Thuborough Farms Ltd / W H Ley & Partners of Sutcombe, Holsworthy;
๐ฅ SUPREME SHEEP CHAMPION: A Texel shearling ewe bred and exhibited by Jodie Hooper of the Lambs Barton flock, St Gennys, Bude;
๐ฅ RESERVE SUPREME SHEEP CHAMPION: A Scotch Blackface 6T aged ewe bred and exhibited by Stuart Cornelius of Davidstow;
๐ฅ SUPREME SHEEP PAIRS: The Hampshire Downs, bred and exhibited by Gwen and Stephen Renfree of the Tamar flock, St Dominic, Saltash.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! ๐๐๐
