There are 7 core values of humanitarianism. I was lucky enough to take a few courses & become part of an amazing Humanitarian Charity REACT Disaster Response (formerly Team Rubicon UK) where many of the staff & volunteers involved imparted their wisdom & shared their expertise.

Volunteer Opportunity: Bird of Prey Centre
Passionate about birds of prey and the natural world?
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and assist in the daily care, training, and presentation of a diverse collection of birds of prey and owls.
This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive training to a high professional standard within a working bird of prey centre.

What We're Looking For
We welcome volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. However, working with birds of prey requires commitment, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
Successful volunteers will demonstrate:
*A genuine interest in birds of prey and conservation
*Good communication skills
*A positive attitude and strong work ethic
*The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
*Respect for animal welfare and safety procedures
Important Information
Training is provided, but not all volunteers progress at the same rate. Advancement to handling and flying birds is earned through demonstrated competence, consistency, and commitment.
Some volunteers may initially focus on husbandry, cleaning, and support duties while developing the skills and confidence required for more advanced training.
Our training programme is tailored to the individual. While everyone receives guidance and support, progression to advanced handling and flying responsibilities is based on demonstrated competence, confidence, commitment, and the welfare needs of the birds.
