Please take a moment to read🤎
In the beginning, I carried a lot of anger towards rescues, more than I did towards the community—because I just didn’t understand. I couldn’t wrap my head around how there could be lists of 30 dogs a day being euthanised.
Some of those dogs may have behavioural challenges, yes. But others? They’re losing their lives simply because of their breed, because they’re labelled “unrehomeable,” or because there just isn’t the funding or space to keep them long term. Rescues can’t sustain hundreds of dogs for life—it’s an impossible situation.
As I’ve started building this project, my perspective has shifted. The world we’re living in plays a role, but it doesn’t change the reality that people make choices every day—to neglect, to overbreed, to abandon. And those choices are what drive these numbers.
People often say we can’t adopt, spay, or neuter our way out of this crisis—and maybe that’s true. But it doesn’t change what’s happening right now. There are dogs sitting in kennels, running out of time, simply because there aren’t enough resources to keep them if they’re not adopted.
So this is where I’m choosing to put my energy.
I’m making it my mission to focus on the dogs in front of me—the ones who need a voice. The ones I can advocate for. The ones I’ve been trusted to help and given the opportunity to fight for.
Because at the end of the day, one life saved still matters.
I have so many incredible dogs waiting to be shared with you, and I can’t wait for you to meet them. But I can’t do this alone—and neither can the rescues.
If you’re able to help through donations—food, toys, cleaning supplies—it all makes a difference. If you’ve ever thought about fostering or adopting, please consider opening your home and your heart. And if that’s not possible, sharing and following this journey helps more than you know.
This is about building a community—for the overlooked, the long stays, the underdogs.
Thank you for being here 🐾🤎
