I thought it was about time I properly introduced myself
I’m Cath, a woman of a certain age..!😂 I’m married and Mr and I live in South Wales not far outside Cardiff with our Welsh Sheepdog ‘Pup’…yes that's her name.! Some of you have heard me mention or seen photos of ‘Dog’…again, yes that was her name. We sadly lost Dog back in July, just shortly before her 16th Birthday.
We spend our time between home, our adventures with our touring caravan, our garden and kitchen. We keep our touring caravan in Mid Wales, so we spend a lot of time up there & then we go touring about twice a year. However, webhooe tonsoend more time touring now that Mr A has retired. Every year we spend time touring in Central France, its a country we’ve come to love.
I started The Ashy’s as anlitrke corner of the internet to share the things that makes sense life feel warm and grounded - cosy travel, home life, gardening & outdoor living and simple food and entertaining. What began as a few snapshots of our everyday moments, is gently growing into a space for celebrating slow, seasonal living and finding beauty in the small things.
Through necessity I learned and I'm still learning to take life slower, its amazing how you suddenly start seeing and enjoying the lovely smaller things in life, that you never had time to see before. I’ll maybe share with you the reasons I had to take things slower, another time in another post, but in partnigs been because of health problems that I have. I have issues with my spine and I had to undergo a spinal fusion surgery four years ago & I now suffer with chronic pain & fibromyalgia.
As much as I’ve always been a social person, I’ve also always loved spending time at home and time spent in my own company and that of family and friends. I love coming home, whether that's to our quiet caravan tucked away in the hills, or a Sunday roast bubbling away in the oven. That's really what The Ashy’s is all about: creating warmth, connection and calm in every season.
