This is the book we mentioned during Sunday's Bible study. Highly recommended by everyone I know who's read it! (And it's SHORT.)

No need for hocus-pocus. No reason to be directionally challenged. Just do something.

This is the interview in a podcast version

Today's interview with Mark Oden, pastor of a church in Naples, is now available as a podcast. Mark gives some great insight into the situation there. A really valuable conversation.

There have been many comments, statements, fake news and questions in light of the current coronavirus. But one important question we must ask is 'What does the Bible say about Coronavirus?' Tonight in YF we will be exploring that question! Have a read at Luke 21 and have your Bibles open and ready. We will be meeting at 8pm via ZOOM, so download the app and contact Claire, Thomas or Matt for the sign in details. See you then!

Here's a helpful letter from our Bishop. Pray for him and all the clergy and Christian leaders that God will give them wisdom and new ideas in how to 'feed their sheep' at this time.

Bishop David has written to clergy with guidance and encouragement for the extraordinary times we are living in.Dear Friends In recent weeks I have sought to give guidelines to clergy and churches in…

Hi everyone

In light of covid-19 we will have to put YF on hold for now. We will keep in touch and send links that you might find helpful to use this time wisely, to think Biblically about it, remembering that God is in control and not surprised by any of this, and to help you to serve others.

Use your time wisely to do all those things 'if only I had more time': spend quality time with your family, talk with one another, pull out the board games, help out around the home with chores, do craft, help with baking/cooking, organise all those photos into albums/photo books, read a book, write a card/letter to someone, look after the elderly and ill, by phoning or sending around food and supplies and many more ideas that I am sure you will have. Do all following the Public Health advice on handwashing and staying at home if you are unwell.

Social media is helpful at this time for sharing info and useful resources, but beware as it can become all consuming and detrimental to our mental and spiritual health. Limit how much time you spend.

Above all use this time to draw closer to God, read His Word and listen to what He says, read books that help use to understand the Bible and God better, listen to podcasts and pray, pray for those who are sick and ill, those isolated and afraid, those frontline staff, those who are facing unemployment and for all people that we will know God's presence, comfort and power at this time and will look to Him. We will send links over the next number of weeks that can help us keep looking to God in this, that He may be glorified.

From the YF team

Until further notice, all parish organisations and activities in the Northern Province should cease, all Sunday and midweek services (gatherings for worship) should be suspended, and steps should be taken to ensure that numbers attending funeral services and weddings are kept as low as possible.

Tomorrow night continues our Bible series of 1 Peter, we will be thinking about what it means to have a living hope.

1 Peter 1:3 - ...he (the Father) has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...

See you then

These days with our ever increasing secular world we can sometimes find ourselves asking where is God in all of this? We, God's people are under increasing pressure as our society becomes more post Christian. Thankfully God's word gives clear guidance and hope in the face of such opposition. As we study the book of Esther this term we will delve into a similar case where the powers of 2 Kings are at work and we will see who ultimately comes out on top. Come join us as we study together.
