Drams in the Field Music Festival 2026 will be held on the weekend of the 23rd of May 2026 🥳🎶🎻

We plan to keep the same format as last year:

FRIDAY: Big welcome music session

SATURDAY: Main festival day on the Glenelg Football Field, family day, big bands at night

SUNDAY: Fringe events hosted throughout the village

The breakdown of events specified is subject to change, this is just to give you an idea of what we are planning for now. Tickets will be put on sale in 2026.

STORM BRAM UPDATE:

School Closures
Portree High School - school closing at 1.20pm
Portree Primary School - Closing at 1pm

Police travel advice has been issued, ahead of Storm Bram today which is expected to bring high winds to part of northwest Scotland.

The Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning for high and disruptive winds affecting parts of Argyll and Bute, Highland and Na h-Eileanan Siar.

The warning for high winds is in place between 4pm and 11:59pm today. Further Yellow warnings for wind and rain are in place for large parts of Scotland between 12pm on Tuesday, 9 December and 12pm on Wednesday, 10 December.

Storm Bram details
Storm Bram will bring a spell of very strong and disruptive winds to northwest Scotland on Tuesday night. Gusts of 70-80 mph are expected for a few hours with a chance that a few places may experience gusts of up to 90 mph. Heavy rain will accompany these strong winds and may exacerbate impacts.

There is potential for large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties. Roads, bridges and railway lines may close, with delays and cancellations to bus, train, ferry services and flights.

Power cuts could occur and affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.

Damage to buildings and homes is possible, with roofs blown off and power lines brought down. Flying debris could result in a danger to life.

Don't miss the annual Boxing Day charity fundraiser this year, raising vital funds for the Kyle and Portree RNLI Stations!
The event centres around a golf competition, and participants are asked to bring their clubs, entry fee, and a decent Secret Santa gift.

🎁 How to Support the RNLI
• Golf Event: If you wish to be involved in the golf event, please contact Councillor John Finlayson directly via Facebook message, WhatsApp, or email at [email protected].
• Raffle: Raffle books are available from Friday, December 5th.
