The 1944 Polikarpov Po-2, one of approximately 33,000 of this type built. She joined the Trust in 2004 and flew for the first time from Old Warden in 2011 and is I believe the only airworthy example in the UK.

The Fighter Collection's latest acquisition in pieces in Hangar 2 at Duxford recently. Westland Lysander IIIa V9546, formerly owned by Sabena Old Timers Foundation in Belgium. One day perhaps we'll see three Lysanders in the air over Duxford or Shuttleworth. Something I've never seen.

Just realised that this is the first year in at least a decade I haven't seen the majestic Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress Sally-B fly, despite a couple of near misses caused by the wonderful British weather and serviceability issues. Here's to next year.

The impressive Short Sunderland Mk.V ML796 in thr Airspace hangar at Duxford. Built and delivered to the RAF in 1945, it served with the French Naval Air Arm between 1949 and 1962, then between 1966 - 69 it was converted into a discotheque and nightclub before being saved from scapping by the IWM in 1976. In a painstaking restoration that lasted the best part of 30 years the aircraft was then restored to it's original condition, a testament to the hard work of those involved.
