Time does indeed fly faster than a buzzfly on a sugar rush. It only seems last week that our Kickstarter backers began receiving their rewards, just days after the printed games arrived in the warehouse. GMS, our distributor, did a tremendous job with fulfilment, helping us clear our requirement that forbade retail sales before our backers got their games first. After some initial problems with the digital download access (issues solved within a couple of days I am pleased to add), everyone that supported the project and made the first printing possible has been able to claim their dues.
As a first-time Kickstarter creator, I like to think everything went pretty damn well all things considered; we hit our minimum target and pulled off a successful campaign. Backers received their items within a reasonable time, as hoped. Having used KS myself, I didn't want our backers to experience the delays or broken promises when it came to fulfilment that, unfortunately, afflict quite a few similar projects. Standart did an amazing job, the printing and finishing of the books is incredibly good quality, and GMS proved a godsend, helping me navigate the latter stages of the project with fast email replies and some solid advice. Thanks guys!
Future Kickstarters will be much easier to organise and manage after this initial run at it, which is good because there is exciting new stuff to come. We have a miniature line, with four forms of being already sculpted, that requires crowd-funding in order to get on our players tables and the next official adventure book, The Ing Sagas: Bluecliff, is planned for the latter quarter of this year (with a free playable preview available via our forum).
Retail
After a wonderful debut of the game at this years UKGE, several retail outlets have shown interest in stocking the game, with a couple already taking delivery! Manchester's awesome gaming store Fan Boy Three joins Blackpool's Dungeon Land and Preston's Harlequin's in being the first stockists to get TotKA on their shelves.

UKGE
The last days of May are a great time for gamers, especially those from the UK, as the annual UK Games Expo opens its doors at the Birmingham NEC for three days of gaming, buying, selling and discovering new stuff! Having vowed to make an appearance as an Exhibitor at some point, it was a dream come true to attend the event with Tales of the Kytin Age. Hot off the press, we sold a good number of both Deluxe and Standard editions, hopefully making many new Hivekeepers in the process.
The response to the games' debut was positive and very encouraging. If any of our Expo customers are reading this - thank you for taking the plunge and buying into this new IP. From the emails I have received since the show, the game seems to be delivering on its rather high promise of being accessible for new players in a rich, detailed, immersive setting, but please let us know what you think via our new forum.
I was planning to add EXPO customer emails to our newsletter subscriber list myself, but this is not an option. So, please sign up in order to receive news and updates for all things kytinous if you purchased anything from our stand.
The UKGE days flew by, as I was on my feet 95% of the time and talking so much I was hoarse by the end of each day! Attending, building and manning the exhibition stand solo, I was relieved a few times throughout the long days by members of my local gaming group. They supplied coffee and pastries and - most importantly - enabled a few much-needed toilet breaks! My sincere thanks go to my friends at the Ribble Valley Gamers Guild for providing such stalwart assists.
Official Forum
It has always been the intent to establish a place where players of TotKA can communicate directly with myself, the creator and author of the title, and each other to maintain a genuine community of like-minded role-players and Hivekeepers. The forum allows our players to share ideas, fiction and any other TotKA related content. Rules questions and lore information can be discussed.
Upon returning from the Expo, preparations for this long-awaited player-creator forum were completed and the site is now live! Though yet in its larval stage, awaiting more content, your presence (and content) would be most welcome.

Until next time, sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite!
