Kilkeel Lifeboat Station has officially named its new Shannon-class lifeboat Bobby Cameron, in memory of Margaret Cameron’s beloved brother.

The lifeboat, which entered service in June, will support Kilkeel RNLI’s lifesaving work for years to come.

Kilkeel man convicted of sexual assault following a contest hearing at Newry Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard the incident took place at the woman’s workplace in May, with CCTV footage presented during the case.

A presentence report has been ordered and the man is due to return to court on September 23.

Dromara man admits seven breaches of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

The court heard the breaches involved possession of unregistered internet capable devices, including a device with a private browser.

He was granted court bail with restrictions on the devices he can possess.

Farmer fined after admitting four motoring offences involving a dangerously defective vehicle carrying a four year old child.

The court heard the vehicle had a number of defects, including damaged headlights, cracked windows and problems with the handbrake, chassis, exhaust and windscreen wipers.

The child was not wearing a seat belt.

The driver was fined a total of £550, received three penalty points and was ordered to pay a £15 offender levy.

Banbridge man appears in court over allegations involving almost £20,000 from The Range in Banbridge.

He faces charges of theft, false accounting and fraud by false representation relating to alleged incidents between December 2024 and April 2025.

The case was adjourned until October 8 and is due to proceed to the Crown Court.

Rathfriland Rangers 1 2 Newry City

Keith Dalton scored twice in the first half as Newry City secured victory over Rathfriland Rangers at Iveagh Park.

Rathfriland pulled one back through Brian Johnson in the 87th minute, but Newry held on for all three points.

Newry now sit fifth in the table, while Rathfriland remain without a point.
