Today's create with confidence art session was all about garlic! It was a challenge of perspective and getting to grips with acrylics but everyone did fantastically.

Trying to do one botanical sketch in my sketchbook each week for a while year...

The storm in Cornwall out me behind a week, but now the lights are back on and i am not having to negotiate convoluted routes to places (except our school run where there is still a tree blocking the road) i thought i would get back to it.

I am trying to pick something that is representative of the week in question amd i shall annotate it like a diary. Week 1 was a branch of our christmas tree, this week a dislodged pine cone from a huge branch that came down in the wind.

First sketch book picture of the year. Middle child told me that she thought elves used snowdrops as their reading lights, so here is my interpretation.

I am moving furniture in the studio tomorrow. I have a lovely plan chest which has been sitting in my living room waiting for an opportunity to load it into the car and take it over to the studio.

It meant clearing out another cupboard where i found lots of gems, including the original snowman drawings for "The Rabbit and the Stars". It was also the first book i illustrated and was a return to painting after many years.

It was great to take these original watercolours and reimagine the book in 2024 into the book that it is available now.

It's the last one left for this season! If anyone would like it, it is on my website now.
