I’ve often wondered what I’d say to my younger self if I ever had the chance. Would I warn her about the highs and lows? Only the good? Or nothing at all? 💭

I imagine it would feel very different for both of us. Big Tanya, full of love, sympathy, and dread for what’s to come. Little Tanya, just thrilled that her hair is finally nearly down to her bum.

Two totally different worries in two totally different worlds 🥹

The truth is, I wouldn’t tell her anything.
That’s hers to figure out.

I overthink constantly: “Do I look okay?” “Do I sound too common?” Then I hover over the post button… and delete. Too often.

But honestly, nothing happens unless you press post. That’s how you start building your brand.

The em dash (—), 🚀 emoji & cringey words that you’ve literally never used in your life might as well sign off your captions with “written by ai”.

I know, the algorithm knows and so does your followers. 👀

Why are we all so afraid to be authentic & be ourselves? 🥹 Don't get me wrong, I fell HARD for the AI trend when it came on the scene too, but I soon figured out you sound like everyone else, and who wants that? Not me! 😩

It's great for ideas, knowledge and support...
But write the bloody captions yourself. (or at least alter them to sound more like YOU) 🤞🏼

I ghosted my own social media for a month 🫣

As someone who literally manages social media for a living, being offline felt weird, but necessary.

Not because I hate my job, but because I needed space to reset my relationship with it.

Here’s what stepping back taught me:
🤯 Being “on” all the time isn’t sustainable
✍🏻 Strategy over stress
👩🏽‍💻 I’m better at my job when I’m not burnt out
📈 You can still grow while giving yourself space to breathe

The algorithm didn’t punish me (too much 🙃). My clients didn’t vanish. My ideas got better.

I’m back now feeling more grounded, more inspired, and creating with way more clarity.

It’s okay to take breaks. Even when it’s your job to be online. 🤍
