🌍 Did You Know? The Sahara Desert Is Bigger Than the United States!
Many people imagine deserts as small stretches of sand, but the Sahara Desert is on an entirely different scale.
📏 The Sahara covers about 9.2 million square kilometres (3.6 million square miles) across North Africa.
For comparison, the United States has a land area of about 9.1 million square kilometres.
That means the Sahara Desert is slightly larger than the entire United States.

• The Sahara spans 11 countries in Africa 🌍
• Temperatures can reach over 50°C (122°F) in some regions ☀️
• It was once a green and fertile land with rivers and wildlife thousands of years ago 🌿
• It is roughly the same size as China or the USA — making it one of the largest geographic regions on Earth.
The Sahara is so massive that if you placed it over Europe, it would cover most of the continent.
Nature truly operates on a scale that’s hard to imagine.
