As you will read with our other posts, the funding was not found to re-open the rehab centre. After about a year of further research, I have however acquired funding to start another programme called The Sinclair Method (TSM). The project is a medication based, alcohol reduction programme that comes with a clinically tested success rate of 78%. I am seeking opportunities to speak in Churches, schools and organisations on the subject of alcohol addiction recovery and would welcome any enquires from all over Scotland. Please visit our new website below and our page:

Alcohol Recovery Scotland

Scotland is known the world over for its many fine Whisky distilleries and a culture of social drinking. For 9 out 10 of us, drinking is an enjoyable pastime associated with celebrations, good company and family occasions. However, this is not the case for everyone. For some of us enjoying a glass o...

We will be closing this page down in the near future.

Unfortunately we have not been successful in reopening the Centre but we have started another home based project, working with clients from their own homes. We are currently seeking funding to pay a salary so if anyone has any contacts or connections that may be of assistance then please private message us on our new page. Feel free to also visit our new page, like it and share with your friends:

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us so far and who have encouraged us all through this amazing journey. Our new project is a programme with a high success rate and if you know anyone who would benefit from working with us, then please get in touch.

As some of you may be aware, we had a huge push last year to raise the funds to re-open a rehab Centre here in the Highlands of Scotland. Unfortunately on this occasion we have been unsuccessful.
A new home based recovery model is being studied at the moment and should this come into being, a link to a new page will posted on here.
Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive up till now and we hope to have something in place very soon to help all those caught up in addiction.

Received an email today from the the local MP's office to call them to make an appointment to go and discuss the Recovery Centre's situation.

Reopening goals:

1) Create a positive awareness campaign to gain public support: Social Media, radio, newspapers, local MP's, petition and testimonies from previous residents.

2) Approach funders to raise initial capital until the project is self funding.

3) Work towards a specific opening date based on the progress of all the above.

Huge 'thank you' to everyone for your encouragement and supportive words in regards to the potential re-opening of the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Centre up here in the Highlands.
This morning I have spoken with someone who has offered us a small amount of potential funding. Once we are up and running, our figures showed a shortfall for running the project each year. The amount available through this funding will leave the project at break even. Long way to go - but an exciting start.

Today begins the journey to see if it is possible to re open the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Centre here in the Highlands. Following a visit to another Recovery Centre who run their work -based programme on a social enterprise model, I believe that after the initial start up costs it would be possible to run the programme close to break even. Please check this page over the coming weeks to check on our progress.

Today, unfortunately is our final day before we close our doors.

Since October 2014, we have seen many lives changed and in some cases, lives saved.

One young man with a very big co***ne habit is now living and working drug free and most importantly has his relationship back with his two daughters. Another young man who came to us with a very heavy he**in addiction is now living in his own flat, training for work and doing really well. Another man on leaving, thanked the staff and said he would not be alive today had it not been for Dochas.

All efforts have been made to raise the necessary funds to continue and we are still continuing the search.

The existing management are still looking into the potential of changing the model to a work based, social enterprise set up with the aim of being able to be self funding after 18 months/ 2 years but we would need private funding for 18 months.

We are considering holding a general meeting to discuss our plan and possible model and if anyone is interested in attending, please email [email protected].

Finally, we would like to thank all who have supported Dochas so far in prayer and donations and we are trusting God for the future. Please join us in praying for all the men who have been with us at Dochas as they continue their journey towards freedom from addiction.

God bless
