We’re collecting as many random and curious facts about the village of Shilton as we can. Many people have lived here for years (or know people who have) and have interesting little facts and stories about the place.
We’re going to kick-start the project at the Village Fete, inviting people to drop by and share their snippets. We’ll have lots of old photos and a ‘memories wall’ by inviting you to write on cards and tie them on a frame, creating a wall of stories for everyone.
It’s not intended to be a detailed history text, but a random collection of interesting, fun, surprising facts about the place we live, as told by the people who live here. Often even trivial facts may come as a big surprise to others and we’re keen to capture big and small for future generations.
Please come along on June 8th, have a chat and share your stories.
