Hi everyone!
I realise that at the moment, The Portrait Lady is a bit faceless - I don't even have my name in my business title!
So I wanted to quickly say "Hi!" and tell you a bit about myself - I'm Lana, owner and photographer at The Portrait Lady, as well as a certified guitar-playing, animal loving and chocolate biscuit-obsessed nerd.
Up until recently, I was in the 14th (gasp!) year of my IT career, specialising in cyber security (so naturally, I'm my friends' and family's tech support!), but I decided that it was now or never for me to start my photography business - something I've been dreaming about for over a decade.
Having taken portraits of people for years and years, and being constantly asked why I don't do this as job (or even a side hustle), last year I finally took the plunge, left my job and fell in....well, face first. (Which would have happened regardless, as I'm so unbelievably clumsy!)
I just get so darn excited about capturing photos of people - especially families. There's something about seeing the emotion and love that comes out in our sessions that just hooks me in the feels, and can make hours and hours of post-processing/editing go so quickly (fortunately!).
So it's lovely to meet you and maybe/hopefully I'll see you sometime when I'm running your family's very own personalised photo shoot!
(And if this doesn't work out, I can always be your tech support 😉)
