Summer Solstice, a time when the daylight reaches its longest.
It's a time when for a brief period, the sun pauses for a few days before slowly moving towards reducing the daylight and Winter. It's a time for us to reflect on our achievements.

At this time of year I find myself rushing to plan and adjust to the reduced daylight. To set habits in place to ensure I get the most out of Autumn and Winter.

And there is my quirk.

Instead of pausing, like the sun, and enjoying the height of summer, I am "busy" looking forward. Instead of enjoying the warm summer nights, the time with family and friends, breaks to explore and experience what the world has to offer, I am rushing forwards.

So for ths year, I am taking the advice I often give, I'm slowing down and appreciating these long summer days. Autumn and Winter will be here soon enough. But, for now, I am taking time out on the river, in the garden, walking instead of running the trails and with friends and family.
