Hello lovely people, we’re so sorry but there’ll be no podcast episode tomorrow.

We really hope you all have a wonderful week, and perhaps some dancing in the rain?!

Maybe you can share your allotment news in the comments below and we can all connect together that way for a week?!

We’ll be back again next week for sure.

May on Vicky’s plot. Onions in sets of 3 are literally blooming - thanks to for inspiring us with onion sets! Strawberries haven’t yet sent enough runners down the centre of the bed but hey, I’ll take a lovely patch nearby.

Comfrey to the right is supplying my compost heap and in bed composting nicely - and soothing a couple of bone breaks that we know of. Did you know Comfrey is also known as BoneKnit 🦴?

Potatoes seem happy at the moment, fingers crossed they stay that way. Down the allotment on Karin’s plot the tips were burnt by frost, let’s hope they rallie.

Further up the plot sugar snaps are beginning to trail up the hazel poles, and the veg is all tucked in nicely.

If I could spend all my days up here I would. 💚🌱💚🌱💚🌱💚

Hello old friends. This is the most heavenly time of year when a warm dusk draws me to my front garden with a coffee and chocolate biscuit and I potter. Some seeds sown, compost potted, leaves mulched, coffee grounds scattered, dry stems clipped, bulbs re buried and the most favoutite, the palest of pink geraniums propagated.

It’s small. It’s glorious. It draws me in. It’s the perfect allotment substitute when the end of the day draws in.

Maybe I should grow some vegetables?

Any ideas for a north facing pot?

A slice of the 2 compost bays that were shifted a foot last week - hard work but incredibly satisfying! 🤣

The dawn chorus was the backing track to the podcast recording this morning. Very little news about jobs on the plot this week but Karin and I just sat in the quiet and beauty of the peachy sunrise. ♥️

Planning for the new year ahead! Sticking to seeds that I have already in the collection to dictate what I’ll grow this year (except I’ll be buying first and second earlies). Trying to value what’s right in front of me and I feel they are calling out to be sown into the ground.

Lots of plans for poly cropping and companion planting, rows and rows of onions and strawberries, potatoes, spinach and kale.

I’ll be dropping spring onions and chives in lots of the beds to hopefully put the slugs off.

Karin and and I are recoding next week’s pod on Sunday so listen in if you’re interest to hear what’s on the menu!

Love to you all and happy sowing!

Gorgeous morning in the drizzle on the plot, just pottering and tidying in the wind. Compost is just dreamy on these beds and the copper how just fluffed them up and took out the weeds that were taking hold between the onions. So pleased I’ve stuck to sowing in lines wide enough to how in between.

Pack home for lunch and very pleased with my Christmas Nails.
