Italian Australian saxophonist Tomma*o Starace pays homage to two giants of the alto saxophone - Charlie Parker and Cannonball Adderely - at St Ives Jazz Club this evening. With him will be Martin Jenkins, on Hammond organ, and Pip Harbon, on drums. Doors open at 6.30pm at The Western Hotel, and the music starts an hour later. Admission is free: pay what you can when the hat comes round.

St Ives Jazz Club welcomes Liane Carroll and Roger Casey to The Western Hotel tomorrow evening (Tuesday). London born and Hastings raised, multi-award-winning singer-pianist Liane is one of the UK’s greatest musical treasures. She has been described by Jamie Cullum as "one of the greatest singers we have in this country". Awards include best British vocalist (BBC Jazz Awards), best Female jazz vocalist (Ronnie Scott's Awards), and best jazz album of the year (Parliamentary Jazz Awards). Entry is free - donations are welcome during the interval.
