Charles Wood, Magnificat & Nunc dimittis in A flat, reconstr. and ed. Geoffrey Webber
Published for the first time as part of the centenary celebrations marking Charles Wood’s death in 1926, this ‘new’ setting of the evening canticles is found amongst the composer’s surviving manuscripts. Composed in Wood’s majestic, sonorous style, the A flat setting provides a satisfying alternative to his more well-known settings.

The RSCM is delighted to announce the recipients of its 2026 Honorary Awards. Each year the RSCM Council confers Honorary Awards on those who have made outstanding contributions to church music. This year’s awards will be presented at the RSCM’s annual Celebration Day in Salisbury Cathedral later this year.

The scope of these awards includes those who make contributions at international levels, but also those who give faithful service in a much more local setting. Recipients of these awards come from across the world and across the traditions of church music, all reflecting the RSCM’s commitment to enabling the flourishing of church music in a diverse set of communities and local settings.

Hugh Morris, RSCM Director, says, ‘It is wonderful to mark the achievements of church musicians from across the globe, who represent a wide range of contexts and settings. We honour them and all they have done, and look forward to publicly celebrating their contributions at Celebration Day in September in our ‘home’ city of Salisbury.’
