May - a new month

Lets begin the month of May with self-compassion. This is so important as we all get to the point where we are hard on ourselves. So hard in fact that we wouldn't talk to our best friends the way we talk to ourselves.

How can we have more self-compassion?

It all begins with awareness, we need to start noticing when we are hard on ourselves without good reason. This months journal prompts will highlight your awareness if you write them out. No pressure, just let it flow. If you don't know what to write, then write "I don't know what to write", ease in to the prompts gently, without judgement and something will appear for you to write.

Some prompts may make you feel emotional, that's OK, ease back and don't force yourself through it. If the prompts are difficult for you to write about, then don't do it. You can always revisit it another day. Again, hold no judgement.

The hardest part of overwhelm isn’t the busyness — it’s carrying it alone.

Being the organiser.
The emotional anchor.
The one everyone relies on.

Strong on the outside.
Quietly overloaded on the inside.

The first 2 workbooks are done in readiness for Wednesday 7th January when we begin a new year of mental wellbeing sessions.
Based at Plymouth Wellbeing Centre at 1.00pm and also going online at 7.30pm.
All resources will be available after the each session in your own membership portal so you can access them if you can’t make it.

As a rule of thumb, small micro habits are easier to achieve than New Years Resolutions due to the way our pathways work in our mind.
If you do make resolutions at the start of the year, then a year of being kind and treating yourself with the same compassion as you do your best friend is a good one for 2026!
