A LGBTQ+ non-profit organisation ‘Gut Level’ has raised nearly £60,000 to take over a former Chapel Walk tea room.

Gut Level has been a club, with over 1900 members, and venue for q***r people in and around Sheffield since 2019.

While they have hosted events at the Sheffield And District African Caribbean Community Association (SADDACCA), said they need a more permanent venue.

Palestine supporters blocked the entrances and exits of Sheffield University’s The Wave building, during its opening ceremony.

Students and lectures were unable to leave or enter the building, preventing them from attending their lectures.

The protests targeted the building as a result of the University’s partnership with BAE Systems, Boeing and Rolls-Royce and followed another protest last week.
