During my undergraduate days, once exams were over, my friends and I would start counting down to the release of our results. Not a single day passed without someone asking, “When do you think the results will be out?”

But the moment the notification came that results were out, everything changed. Suddenly, everyone went quiet, no one wanted to bring up the topic anymore! 😂

The only thing you’d hear was, “Have you checked?” or “Check first na!” 😜

When it was finally time to open the result portal, anxiety would kick in. Some of us would visit the toilet multiple times before clicking that login button. Others would even beg a friend to check their results for them because, honestly, the heart couldn’t take it! 😂

Fast forward to now. I’ve been playing peekaboo with my school’s blackboard for the past one month, anxious and also too scared to see my final MSc results. But today, I finally did it! 🙈

And guess what? I officially cleared my 180 MSc credit loads! 🎓🔥

The relief, the joy, the peace, it’s a feeling I can’t describe.

Now, the countdown begins to my graduation day on 12th November! 💃💃

The Day Google Maps Almost Made Me Relocate to the Other Side 😭

No doubt, Google Maps is really helpful but if you don’t add a bit of common sense to it, it can mislead you completely!

I remember one day when I was going for a house viewing here in the UK. I entered the postcode into Google Maps, and it said the place was just 30 minutes walk from where I was staying. So I told myself, “Why waste money on a bus when I can just walk?”

At first, everything looked fine. I followed the direction confidently, but soon the streets became lonelier and quieter. The map led me through some strange paths until I found myself inside a fenced compound. The gate was open, so I thought, “Maybe this is a shortcut.”

As I kept walking, I noticed the place was surrounded by bushes, and I started hearing birds making those scary sounds you hear in horror movies. I began to wonder, “Why is this road so different? Don’t people use it?”

Then I turned to my left and right there beside me were graves. Lined up. In numbers. 😭

Guys, if you had seen the speed at which I ran out of that place, you’d think I saw actual spirits! That was the end of the house viewing for that day. Google Maps can never deceive me like that again. 😜

Always double-check your route before you set out, especially in the UK where shortcuts can take you through anywhere.😅

One funny thing about Oyibo people is how obsessed they are with talking about the weather.

In summer, if you meet a typical Oyibo, you’ll hear things like, “It’s so hot today, isn’t it?” or “I’m boiling!

Are you hot too?” Soon, the conversation turns into a full report: “The temperature is 28°C today.

What’s the highest in your country?” And I’m just there thinking, “I haven’t even checked the temperature in my country before!” 😂

When it’s windy, it’s all, “It’s way too windy today!”

And in winter… my people practically disappear, hiding indoors until summer comes around again.

Last year, when I arrived it was windy and rainy weather, you could barely see anyone outside. Then, as soon as winter ends, they reappear, soaking up the sun like nothing happened. 😜

Since I came here, I’ve been hearing how people can give out things just by leaving them in front of their houses or on the street.

Yesterday, while coming back from work, I finally saw something. A fridge placed outside a building next to mine. I was so excited, thinking, at last, I’ve found a fridge to pick up! 😂

Even though I was tired, I decided to carry it. Luckily, I met someone from my apartment and asked him to help me. Together, we managed to drag the fridge all the way to my place. I was full of joy, already imagining how I would finally have a fridge.

But, guys, the excitement didn’t last long. The moment I checked the back of the fridge, I discovered there was no compressor at all. 😩

Instantly, my joy turned into disappointment. Imagine carrying all that weight, only to find out the fridge couldn’t even work. 😜

Right now, I’m just looking for someone to help me carry it back to where I picked it up.

This freebie life is not for the faint-hearted!😂
