July 7th, is World ! The Britain Tanzania Society joins the global community in celebrating this vital language, spoken by millions across East Africa and beyond.

Kiswahili is more than just a means of communication; it's a living testament to a rich history, diverse cultures, and enduring connections. It plays a crucial role in promoting peace, fostering understanding, and preserving the unique heritage of the Swahili people.

We encourage everyone to learn a few Kiswahili phrases and discover the warmth and wisdom embedded within this beautiful language. Let's continue to champion its growth and recognition worldwide!

On Saturday, we honoured the visionary founders of the Britain Tanzania Society and the Tanzania Development Trust, established in 1975 by individuals like Bishop Trevor Huddleston and Hon. Amon Nsekela. Their commitment to promoting mutual understanding and direct support has shaped five decades of positive impact. As we say, "Umoja ni Nguvu" - Unity is Strength!

🇬🇧🇹🇿 A proud and historic moment for the Britain Tanzania Society (BTS)!

We were honoured to welcome H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, former President of Tanzania, for his first official engagement as President of BTS.

At a special gathering in London with BTS and Tanzania Development Trust leaders, we celebrated 50 years of UK–Tanzania friendship and explored exciting opportunities for future collaboration.

Dr. Kikwete pledged his full support for advancing education, health, development, and cultural exchange — and endorsed plans for a major anniversary celebration in Tanzania later this year!

We are inspired by his leadership and look forward to working together to build on this legacy for the next 50 years and beyond.
