Early start yesterday with Richard taking his new Quicksilver 640 out for her first proper run as a new owner.

It was a bit of a rough one, a horrible swell left over from the recent blow, and the inshore water clarity was poor, which never helps when you’re hoping for a few squid. 🌊🐙

We didn’t manage to reach the marks we’d planned, but as always the sea started to settle and clear up just as we were heading back in around midday. That’s fishing for you! 😄

All in all, a great morning out and a good laugh catching up with a mate. It’ll be great to see what upgrades Richard adds over the coming months and they’ll be plenty more sessions to come once we get a decent spell of weather… hopefully 🤞

After hearing for ages that “nothing beats a live bait for big bass,” I decided to test it for myself.

Let’s just say… when the rod went over, it was absolute chaos and this was only the first drift 🤣
