Near Kingsbury Episcopi, the apple tree branches are full with this season’s harvest, even the air carries that unmistakeable scent of ripe apples.

For generations, this has been the moment the local community waits for: baskets filling, presses ready, and the promise of cider to come.

New Café at Frogmary

There’s a lovely new hidden gem to discover at Frogmary! Daisies Café is now open, serving up everything from silky lattes to comforting hot chocolates, classic teas, and all the little treats in between. Daisies - Cakes, Coffee & more. Frogmary Green Farm right next to the ponds!

It’s the perfect spot to pause, relax, and enjoy the view, and yes, it’s dog friendly 🐾 so your four-legged friends can join too

A gentle tip though, maybe avoid popping in right after Park Run 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ (although the team are ready and waiting, it does get very busy!).

Huge thanks to Daisy and the team for creating such a cosy, welcoming space, you’re doing a fab job!

And as the summer holidays draw to a close, this is the perfect little café to soak up the last few weeks, come rain or shine.

Three straw dogs on a thatched roof mark the way to one unforgettable stay.

Tucked just under Burrow Hill, there’s a house with a secret, look up and you’ll spot three straw Jack Russells racing across the thatched roof.

Higher Burrow Farm (aka the Jack Russell House) is surrounded by orchards and farmland, and sleeps up to 17 people. Perfect for family stays, big gatherings and celebrations, it’s available on Airbnb and Woodlands Retreats.

Huge thanks to the wonderful owners who helped me out last minute with a photoshoot, they couldn’t have been more welcoming. If you’re a photographer or location scout, keep this place on your list.

Beneath a thatched roof, just off a quiet country lane in Muchelney, South Somerset, a new kind of gathering has begun.

Friday evenings only, yet already this little bar feels older than it is. Boxes of cider and bottles of ale rest in the dimpsey light, while one or two classic cars settle nearby. The soft murmur of voices drifts out, mingling with the clink of glasses filled with Somerset cider.

I can already tell it’s going to be a great success! Well done Joe.
