Proper white label - when UK Garage was called “speed garage” and the dominant recipe was to find an Armand Van Helden loop and lay an accapella over it 🙌🏻
Reminds me of the mezzanine DJ box at The Academy in Southampton, would be in the latter part of 1997 when I was doing a set there on a Thursday evening.
Still a banger too 💣

🚨NEW MIX ALERT! 🚨
When I put these together it usually starts with me being triggered by a single track and working outwards from there. This time it was Harry “Choo Choo” Romero’s classic “Tania” from 2001, so edging out sideways from there I took in some disco, jackin’ and funky house, both past and present. Always room for a few classics too, so listen out for those.

🚨 ANOTHER MIX! 🚨
Amazing isn't it, when you stop thinking so hard and just do what you feel, you suddenly can't stop -- who knew? 🤣
This week I'm feeling more on the soulful side, starting out nice a mellow with some latin-style beats, moving through some contemporary and classic soulful house into something funky to finish up with.
Includes a really sweet Seamus Haji version of "Portuguese Love", as well as a classic MAW throwback from 23 years ago (gulp).

Going into a Tuesday of travelling and preparing a bit like this - absolute classic, vinyl-only Jazz ‘n’ Groove remix of “Feel The Real” ✨

Long weekend vibes starting early with a classic .jn remix of - can only get the full length version of this mix on vinyl, and was in no mood for the radio edit today 😎

Another mix for you! 🎧
In all the heat I was feeling something a bit deeper so put together this selection of deep, nudisco and jackin house tracks but mostly with a deep feel to them. Still amazed how good Frankie Knuckles "Rain" still sounds now, plus found it hard to keep my feet still when a newer track by Cassette Moderne went in. Enjoy it anyway!

Back in the studio with another soulful blend on a gloomy but hot and sticky day on the South Coast. As usual a progression from something deeper to something bigger, all with some kind of funk or soul element to it. Revisited a play or two from shows of yesteryear as well. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

I love music. It’s my passion. It’s my happy place. It’s what I think about when I daydream.
It feels like being a DJ was always my destiny from when I was boy. From chopping up cassette recordings from the chart rundown with my dad on a Sunday to the life’s work that is my music collection, I always felt this was where I’d end up somehow. And here I am, coming into my 25th year as a DJ.
My fascination with the art began aged around 7 or 8 when I would avidly watch every move of the mobile DJs at our local social club. This addiction to the DJ’s craft developed over the years through being mesmerised by the scratch artistry of DJ Hype to admiring the production brilliance of people like Masters at Work. A common thread in all my heroes has been a combination of their professionalism, attention to detail and most importantly that ability to take people on a journey through their music. It’s these traits that I’ve always tried to incorporate in what I do whether it’s when I go out to play or on my radio show.
I’ve spanned a few genres over the years. I learned to mix in the earlier days of hardcore, modelling myself on people like Slipmatt and Carl Cox, before progressing into house music and the smoother more refined sounds of the likes of David Morales, Erick Morillo and Louie Vega. I’m not a music snob however and I do enjoy also a good blast of some “guilty pleasures” at a party every now and again. This goes right back to my original fascination with the fundamental art of the DJ as an entertainer and all round people-pleaser.
Anyway, I’m glad you found me and I hope you enjoy my postings. Who knows, with a bit of luck one day I might be playing for you 🙏🏻
