Axel is a 3 year old Mastiff in need of a new home due to a change in circumstances and his family feel they can no longer meet his needs (any negative comments about this will be deleted).

Axel currently lives with children who he has lived with since being a puppy but he can be nervous of new people so we feel a sensible, experienced adult only home would be best for him. We are confident that with time and sensible introductions he would be happy around children as he’s very loving and playful with the ones he knows and trusts.

Axel hasn’t ever lived with another dog but he does love playing with another family member’s dog, and he’s been doing really well meeting new four legged friends recently and has even been enjoying off lead time with them so we feel with a number of sensible introductions he could live with another dog. He’s never been around cats so can’t be rehomed with them.

Although he is a strong lad he walks very well on the lead, isn’t phased by busy roads, he’s far more interested in sniffing but he does need someone who is physically able to handle his size and strength.

Axel is really gentle when taking treats and will sit and eagerly give you his paws. He travels well in the car, is great at the vets, and loves a run around a field with his ball.

He is vaccinated and chipped, and his neutering will be discussed with our vet.

Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to where he is in South Yorkshire.

As always we require everyone in the family and any children who are regularly going to be in contact with the dog to attend the meet. Our usual process is that you will need to come and meet the dog and that adoption is then done on a second meet. For some dogs additional meets may be required and potential adopters will be required to travel to the dogs location for all meets.

If you meet the criteria for this dog please call 07766 766252 or 07950 404074 8am-8pm to discuss (if your call is not answered please leave a voicemail and we will return your call). If you are suited we will then arrange a homecheck, vet reference and meet with the dog. We only rehome where all resident and previous animals are/were regularly vaccinated and neutered/speyed unless on veterinary advice. All of our dogs have rescue back up 💜🐾
