I’ll set up early tomorrow (by 9.15) as I’ve got dentist at 9.30 but should be back v quickly so:

🦋make yourselves comf, the space is all ours

🦋make the most of the cuppa and cake for £5.50 deal at the cafe,

🦋 accessible pram entrance is down the side of the Stamford Arts Centre

🦋 baby change facility on site

🦋 as it’s drop in you can attend classes or have naps and then join us after/before

Sometimes, you just have to take a leap & say ‘sod it I’m going for it’ don’t you?

It’s been a hectic week & so a bit of Sunday reflection is welcome this evening.

Last week I helped put on a little event for two local business women; Anna who runs her businesses .couture.boutique & .couture.brides, and Becca who runs

It was the first time we’d done something like this; is very early on in its development with a large proportion of the year spent trying to get my head around a new ‘bread & butter’ job whilst navigating intense sickness in pregnancy.
As the day got nearer & we hadn’t sold LOADS of tickets the doubts started to creep in… imposter syndrome was starting to tap on the door… and whilst there was lots of encouragement, there were also a few suggesting to call it off, cut losses etc…

But we didn’t!

And it was a beautiful little evening of festive fun, like a bespoke, exclusive private shopping evening - I mean who doesn’t love shopping with a glass of fizz in hand?

The really lovely thing? It was mostly a room full of women who hadn’t met before, 2 friends, another 2 friends, a Mum & Daughter, a lady having an evening out on her own, etc etc, all who didn’t know each other before but there was chatter, conversations, mutual oohs & aahs as people tried outfits on & ventured out of the changing rooms. Women building up women, women complimenting women. Women encouraging women. How bloody lovely is that?

It’s such a beautiful atmosphere at Anna’s, & when it came to Becca’s make up demonstration, Becca explains every step, from the ‘how to’, the why - what effect what you’re doing will achieve; why a particular type of product might be good. Her many years of experience from tv to weddings really comes across & she just makes everyone feel sooo at ease.

So Sunday reflection on last week… I’m feeling proud. Of .couture.boutique of and of myself 🦸🏼‍♀️🦸🏻‍♀️🦸🏼‍♀️

So… from small acorns… watch this space for future events as I’m already planning 📒🖊️

I am both excited and a smidge nervous for our first ever event hosted by 🦋

Organising during evenings and weekends around my day job, and being rather pregnant, looking after our 3.5 year old, my elderly Dad, juggling ‘life’ like we all do has felt a bit ‘am I doing too much’ at times… (I’m an honest over sharing butterfly too sometimes 😊)

but I grew up with parents running a fabric and haberdashery shop on St Mary’s street and know how much of a struggle business could be at times. And so I feel passionately about helping others grow their local business, supporting local, and have goals to develop my own little brand over the coming years too 💞

We’ve sold actual tickets for this event (I was worried we wouldn’t to begin with) and we’ve collaborated with local companies to put it together. It’s a small event this time but who knows where it will lead (I’ve got big plans to develop but you’ve got to start somewhere and a small brave step in the right direction is better than standing still!).

Sometimes you just have to be brave… and BOLD 🦋

Spread those wings and trust that you will fly and your bravery will have a butterfly effect, ripple out and grow… 🦋
