I can't emphasise enough how true this is.

Time, tears, triumphs, endless emotions, pride, passion and persistence goes into every word on every page. To share your words with others, to share your story and everything that comes with it, is the biggest privilege and one of the most incredible legacies you can leave. For others to choose to read those words and to come on that journey with you is everything.

As an author, the world might not see your behind-the-scenes, but that is for you to experience.
Your story is yours to share.

In this world we live in, we're so focused on ensuring our phone battery is always fully charged for optimum performance, it's too easy to forget to check how equipt we as humans are to function, survive and thrive.

Let's consider our overall health as a tree.

Rooted intrinsically and universally within each of us, our mental health is just one branch of that life-sustaining tree - alongside our emotional, spiritual, physical, cognitive, neurological, visual and auditory health.

This tree needs constant and committed nurturing.
If one branch becomes weakened, damaged or vulnerable, the body as a whole feels the effects.

We need to recognise our mental health as our life-bood, our identity, and our basic human right.
It's something we each possess, but few of us recognise, appreciate, or know how to nurture, strengthen or repair it.

I would never claim to have all the answers, but a shared journey is always more beneficial and cathartic than one taken in solitude.
It would be a privilege to be a small part of your journey.

Whether l know you personally or not, l know that you are better than you think and you have been someone's light, motivation, support and comfort when they needed it most, whether you knew it at the time or not.

Just because it's Christmas week, just because there's 3 sleeps until 'the most magical day of the year', and just because we're sold the pursuit of perfection by the (social) media, it doesn't mean your life suddenly becomes easy, your grief lessens, your pain dissappears, your worries become any less real or all your dreams come true. Your challenges don't take the day or the week off.

However, magic can be found in human connections, in shared experiences, in empathic listening, in revisited memories, in new memories, in a purposeful step forward, or someone you love joining you where you are.

Asking for help isn't raising a white flag; it's the refusal to surrender.

Wherever you go this week, l hope you are able to go in peace ❤️
