We are Clue Records, an independent record label based in Leeds. We also host a monthly show on Amazing Radio, showcasing the best in new music. Clue is run by Scott Lewis with support from Steven Langton, Tony Ereira + Paul Thomas. The label was founded by Scott + Ste in 2012 over a beer. After 7 years of releasing, Clue merged with Hatch Records, welcoming Tony + Paul to the t

‘Vacancy’ is out everywhere now! 💄☕️🤳✨

The track navigates the bands complicated relationship with social media, the influx of life hacks and trends that come with it, and ultimately how empty it can make you feel.

Vocalist Jackie says “It’s about being dumbfounded by the modern world and social media. My news feed is full of suggested videos of people telling me my life will be better if I buy some leggings or get the ‘off menu’ Starbucks drink.

I love an iced coffee as much as the next person but there’s a whole culture of people driving in nice cars drinking coffee and sitting making videos in carparks that I can’t get my head around.

I feel like it’s opening a black hole somewhere that we’re all going to be swallowed into – a vacancy”

💥 Va Va Voom 💥 by Cinerama () out now!

The 25 year anniversary version of the originally release from 1998, Va Va Voom was David’s first musical project outside of The Wedding Present, who, by then, had released five albums and established themselves as one of the UK’s most uncompromising and influential indie rock bands.

To be released in three formats, this celebratory re-imagining of ‘Va Va Voom’ sees David revisiting that remarkable debut. The Deluxe Edition consists of two coloured vinyl LPs and two CDs containing both a full studio re-recording of the original album together with a live recording of the album from August 2023, which can also be viewed on an accompanying DVD. A Double CD + DVD set contains both these recordings, along with the aforementioned DVD, while a Picture Disc also features the studio re-recording. All sets boast stunning new artwork.

Announcing ‘Dead Stars’✨⭐️💫

The sophomore album from the North East’s finest !

Once again channeling the rawness of the North East coast, Pit Pony return with their second album Dead Stars. Set to release on 7 February 2024 via Clue Records / EMI North.

The album sees the band meld a myriad of influences from 50s doo-wop to heavy rock while frontwoman Jackie Purver navigates the complexities of modern life.

A broader and more ambitious, but yet wholly cohesive follow up to their debut album World To Me, Dead Stars promises to reveal infinitely finer details with each listen.
