Hyperia is the UK's tallest and fastest rollercoaster, located at Thorpe Park Resort. Its backstory centers around a mythical, fearless goddess who conquers her deepest phobias to soar above the clouds. The legend of Hyperia weaves a tale of triumph over adversity and is broken down into three key elements:
The Fear: Hyperia was the daughter of an ancient river god. Because of a deep, paralyzing fear of the ocean, she was imprisoned on the island she called home.
The Forge: Refusing to be defined by her fears, she spent day and night in a forge. She hammered away, meticulously crafting a set of unbreakable wings made of gold and steel.
The Flight: Summoning her courage, she leaped from the island. The wings caught the wind, allowing her to soar high above the very water that had once imprisoned her.
The ride encourages guests to face their fears, challenge themselves and discover what they're truly capable of. Whether that's riding the UK's tallest coaster for the first time or simply stepping outside your comfort zone, Hyperia is all about finding the courage to take flight.
Marketed under the slogan "Find your fearless," the ride's queue and station are themed as a blacksmith’s forge, where guests (referred to as "The Fearful") enter to build their own wings before boarding the coaster to become "Fearless".
