Canva has SO many little tools and tricks… but do you actually know where to find them? 👀

I’ve just finished a Canva Masterclass with eight amazing business owners, and what a great way to finish a Friday! 🙌✨

We focused on navigating around Canva with confidence, discovering some of the features that can make creating content quicker and easier, and learning how to create a social media post- whether that’s starting with a Canva template or building something from scratch.

I’m so grateful to every single person who bought a ticket and joined me online today. Thank you for trusting me to help you build your Canva confidence! 🤍

There were lots of questions, plenty of opportunities to have a go, and everyone also has the recording to look back on afterwards so they can keep practising in their own time.

It’s always a good start to the day when there’s a coffee in one hand and such an enthusiastic and passionate woman sitting to your left! ☕✨

I had such a lovely catch-up with Vincenza Forte Short Stays this morning and really enjoyed learning more about the amazing stays she offers and you can experience across the Staffordshire Moorlands, Leek, Stone, Newcastle and Stafford.

Whether you’re looking for a little breakaway, somewhere to stay while exploring Staffordshire, or even a venue for a networking event.

But I think what stood out most from our conversation was just how much we can support one another, share advice and learn from each other.

“Private messaging feels so cringe! 😬”

I’ve had a few people say this to me recently… and I get it!

But what if we stopped thinking of DMs as a place to sell and started thinking of them as a place to start conversations?

Find something on their profile you genuinely like. Ask a question. Show an interest in what they do. Or simply start a conversation that has nothing to do with your services.

Build the relationship first.

Then, if they ask, “So, what do you actually do?”… there’s your opportunity.

That’s when you can talk about your services, because the conversation has naturally led there.

Not every DM needs to become a sale. Some conversations might lead to a client next week, next month… or even next year.

So don’t wait until you need clients to start conversations. Start them now! What are your thoughts?

August has involved plenty of coffee, a little pampering… and one BIG decision I’ve finally made

First, a little self-care! 🧖‍♀️ We had a lovely Tropic session with Fran Ruscoe | Skin Confidence & Empowerment, learning more about how to hydrate and properly look after our skin. We got to try different Tropic products, play a few games and, of course, drink plenty of coffee. ☕️

I also had the pleasure of catching up over coffee (and some lovely loaded hash browns!) with Sarah Kane. She is someone who has done nothing but support me, refer me and champion Shaw Socials, and it really is a privilege to support her in return by promoting the incredible work she does. Please do give Performing Arts International a follow! 🤍✨

And finally… I decided to go for it.
Something I’ve wanted to introduce for quite a while is officially in planning. On 18th November, I’ll be hosting an in-person social media event, helping you understand what’s happening across social media and curating content with you! Save the date 📅

What an incredible turnout for today’s online Instagram Masterclass!

The other day my family said to me:

“Wow Katie, look at you speaking! Where has that confidence come from?”

And honestly… it’s because I’m passionate about authentic, organic social media.

I’m proud of my journey! I’m proactive and ready to support business owners through planning, creating and executing content or doing it for them.

I used to be the quiet one.

Now, give me a room full of business owners and something I’m passionate about teaching… and apparently you can’t shut me up 😂

I don’t think I’ve suddenly become a completely different person.

I think I’ve just found my dream.

And when you care deeply about what you do, confidence has a funny way of following.

So, if you’re waiting to feel “confident enough” to put yourself out there in your business…

Maybe you don’t need more confidence.

Maybe you just need to remember why you started.
