The Octagon is a 155 m (509 ft) tall, 49-storey residential skyscraper in Birmingham, England. The building is part of the Paradise redevelopment scheme in the city centre and is designed by Glenn Howells Architects. It is currently the tallest building in the city and the tallest octagonal residential skyscraper in the world. Planning started 2020. Built 2022-2025. Due to its unique design, the Octagon has become a landmark building for the city. The tower houses 364 homes, being 1 bed, 2 bed and 3 bed apartments. The visual design of The Octagon mirrors the neighbouring Jewellery Quarter, embodying its historical and contemporary industrial workshops.
It’s 74m taller than the Rotunda, that is 81 metres (266 ft) tall.
It’s 15m taller than the BT tower that is 140 metres (460 ft) tall.
