Fruit & Vine visited Shotley Vineyard, Suffolk today, where owner Charlotte Davitt-Mills and her team of volunteers were harvesting the Pinot Noir grapes for this year’s vintage 🍷

The variety had ripened even earlier than usual thanks to the hot summer ☀️ and with the weather turning wetter there was only a short window of opportunity to get the grapes in before the acidity began to drop 🍇

A major step forward in precision orchard management and the future-proofing of fruit production against climate change has been achieved through new research by the UK crop research organisation Niab, Nanjing Agricultural University in China, and international partners 🙌
