Flying Scotsman Fundraising Challenge 💙

1️⃣ Great North Run Update:

James clocked 1:56:26 at the Great North Run, powered by amazing crowds and guided safely by Rob Mantell, who got him round every mile with total calm and skill. Huge thanks to everyone who shouted support along the route; it genuinely keeps him moving.

2️⃣ Gwen’s Next Mission 🐾💚

6‑Mile walk to raise awareness for Lifespace and Myton with Gwen the black cocker.

Gwen is taking on a 6‑mile charity walk as part of the Flying Scotsman fundraising challenge, alongside James and our very own Jo. James is currently clocking 120km a week!

Recent figures show that more children and young people are attending A&E due to mental health concerns, with the biggest increase seen among younger children. [bmj.com], [telegraph.co.uk]

Behind every statistic is a young person who may be struggling with worries, stress, loneliness, anxiety, or difficult experiences.

At Lifespace, we believe you shouldn't have to wait until things feel overwhelming to ask for support.

💚 Talking helps.
💚 Being listened to helps.
💚 Reaching out is a sign of strength.

Whether you're having a tough day or facing bigger challenges, remember that you don't have to carry it all on your own.

🌟 Lifespace Impact 2025/26 🌟

Kicking off a new school year always feels like a reset- perfect time to look back at all the good stuff Lifespace did last year and keep that energy going.

We're proud to share the difference our team has made:

✅ 568 young people received one-to-one mentoring
✅ 5,700 mentoring sessions delivered
✅ 3,698 hours of mentoring provided
✅ 611 young people engaged through group programmes

Behind every number is a young person who has been listened to, encouraged and supported when they needed it most.

Today we join people around the world in recognising World Su***de Prevention Day.

This year's theme, "Changing the Narrative on Su***de", encourages us to challenge stigma, promote understanding, and create safe spaces where people feel able to talk openly and seek support.

Suicidal thoughts can affect people of all ages, and many young people may be struggling silently with overwhelming emotions, stress, loneliness, or feelings of hopelessness.

Reaching out for support can make a difference, and no one should feel they have to cope alone.

At Lifespace, we're here to support young people through mentoring and safe spaces to talk. We are here to help young people feel heard, understood, and supported.

📩 If you or another young person you know could benefit from support, get in touch with Lifespace to find out more about our services:

Could your school benefit from a team of trained Peer Listeners?

Lifespace is offering Peer Listener Training Workshops for schools across Warwickshire, helping young people develop the skills, confidence and compassion to support their peers.

The workshops are practical, engaging and interactive, using role plays, real-life scenarios and group discussion to help students build confidence and turn learning into action.

By training Peer Listeners, schools can help create a more supportive culture where young people feel heard, connected and empowered.
