Lifespace Trust

Lifespace Trust Our vision is that all young people have the self-esteem, resilience and confidence to thrive. What would that be like?

We want to reach & help a million young people - to reduce their distress, build their resilience & inspire possibility about what they're capable of. We do this through one-to-one mentoring, with a team of fully trained & professionally supervised mentors.

🌟 “The need to nurture our children’s social and emotional development has never been more urgent.” – Nurtureuk

In Time to Nurture: Responding to the Social-Emotional Development Crisis in Our Schools, Nurture UK's latest report, they highlight how:

▶ Over 40% of pupils in England have social-emotional development needs, and 16% have high needs (up from 10% in 2018).
▶ Unmet needs lead to poor wellbeing, behaviour, and academic outcomes - costing the state an estimated £1.9bn annually.

The report calls for “early identification and intervention” and recommends “universal social-emotional assessment and whole-school nurture” so no child’s needs go unnoticed.

At Lifespace Trust we build bespoke emotional wellbeing toolkits for partner schools includes:

✔ Mentoring – building trusted relationships and resilience
✔ Workshops – practical tools for pupils
✔ School Supervision packages – supporting DSLs and pastoral staff to stay strong for those who need them most

This year, we supported 1,541 young people, delivered 5,163 mentoring sessions, and took part in 201 group activities (including 39 workshops) reaching over 1,000 young people.

Together, we’re creating safe, inclusive spaces where every child feels valued and ready to learn.

⭐ Championing Inclusion and Nurture in Education ⭐

Today, attended the UK Parliament APPG on Inclusion and Nurture in Education.

Hosted by APPG Chair Sarah Hall MP, with inspiring voices from Arti Sharma CEO, Lord Mott (APPG Vice Chair), and Headteacher Nadine Bernard, the message was clear: inclusion and nurture transform lives.

Our CEO Lisa Carroll joined the conversation, supported by .perteghella and connected with Dr Jon Reid and Dr Tristan Middleton, who’ve been helping us evaluate the pilot of our new DSL and pastoral supervision service.

Because when staff feel supported, children thrive. 🌱
✨ Together, let’s make belonging the norm.

🌱 Day 1: Lifespace’s Systemic Practice Journey Begins! 🌱

Today marked the start of something powerful 💥 Our Supervision Team, Core Team, and key Lifespace crew came together for Day 1 of our Introductory Course in Systemic Practice — led by the brilliant Sarah Favier from the

This training is a big step towards embedding a systemic approach across Lifespace - making sure our values and ways of working are consistent, reflective, and truly impactful 💬✨

A standout moment? Exploring the GRRRAAACCEEESSS framework - a lens that helps us recognise and work with difference. It’s about seeing the full richness of identity: Gender, Religion, Age, Ability, Class, Culture, Race, Education, Ethnicity, Sexuality, Spirituality… and more 🌈

This course, funded by builds on our ongoing work with Mark Phillips (Systemic Psychotherapist + Chair of Lifeways Charity) and strengthens our commitment to responding with compassion, creativity and care 💛

By the end, Lifespace will be a Systemically Informed Organisation — better equipped to support children, young people and our community.

Big love to our fellow charities who joined us: Stratford Youth Collective The Friendship Project for Children and Kairos WWT. Your insights and energy made today even more special 💫

Mental health is in crisis - but change starts locally.

Mind's The Big Metal Health Report 2025 is sobering:

👉 1 in 5 children now live with a probable mental health condition
👉 1 in 3 people say their mental health worsened while waiting for support
👉 The cost to the UK economy? £300 billion a year

At Lifespace Trust, we’re doing things differently.

↪ In 2024/25, we supported over 1,500 young people - through mentoring, group work and supervision for the adults around them.
↪ Our sessions are longer, deeper and more responsive to the complexity we’re seeing.
↪ Safeguarding concerns rose - not because things are getting worse, but because our team is noticing more and acting sooner.
↪ We’re already delivering the kind of trauma-informed, youth-led, community-based support that Mind is calling for.
↪ We know it works - we just need more funding to do more.

If you believe in early, relational support, please share this.

If you want to help us reach more young people - get in touch.

We’re at the Annual Conference, exploring the theme: Igniting Change 🔥 Working together - transforming tomorrow.

CEO Caroline Broadhurst introduced “Lord Rank” — an AI version of the Foundation’s founder. Sparked a cracking debate about AI and ethics in our sector 💬

We’re talking Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging, and Artificial Intelligence, and how we move forward together.

🎨 What an incredible weekend at Fusion Art Fair Warwick! 💛

A huge thank you to the organisers, artists, and patrons who made this event so special. Together, we’ve raised £2,046 to support Lifespace Trust’s work with young people across Warwickshire 🙌

We’ve had the joy of reconnecting with existing supporters and with families and schools who’ve benefitted from our mentoring and workshops. We also connected with some fabulous prospective volunteers too!

The generosity of the artists has been truly moving - donating unique, beautiful pieces to help us be there for young people as soon as life gets tough, and for as long as they need us.

At Lifespace, we stand by our three pillars:
💬 Reduce Distress
🌱 Build Confidence
🚀 Achieve More

This weekend has been a powerful reminder of the healing power of art - and the strength of community when we come together to support those who need it most.
