We can check chimneys are not blocked and make sure there are no wobbly roof tiles or other hazards for Santa. We will even issue you a ‘Christmas Rooftop Check’ certificate - just ask the attending engineer and he will give you it once he has done his checks and made sure everything is safe.

The police recommend people to take the following steps to help reduce the risk of parcel theft:

• Track your parcel so if possible someone can be home at the time of delivery

• Install CCTV or a video doorbell

• Install a security light - it’s getting dark early

• Arrange for parcels to be delivered to a trusted neighbour if you know they will be home

• Install a lockable delivery box

• Use an off-site locker service or pick-up service in busy locations, for example, a supermarket
