A major wildfire in the Landes region of southwestern France has burned more than 1,700 hectares of forest.
Although firefighters have managed to stop the flames from spreading further, the blaze remains out of control. Around 550 firefighters are working alongside military personnel and six water-bombing aircraft to bring the situation under control.
