BREAKING NEWS - Our previous post, highlighted racist remarks made by Glenn Gibbins, a newly elected Reform UK councillor. New reports by the BBC show he has been suspended following these serious allegations of racism and misogyny, just days after the party took control of Sunderland City Council.

Party leaders say an investigation is underway, with calls growing over failures in candidate vetting.

Lowery's Lads are thrilled to confirm that our ten year anniversary event will take place on June 27th, at our spiritual home of Silksworth Sports Complex.

We have loads in store for "The Ten", to be announced in due course as and when we lock things in.

We have reverted to the old "two team" format this time around to ensure as many Lowery's Lads players past and present can take part.

A JustGiving will be set up in due course and added to all posts going forward, as will an updated event poster with sponsors etc.

⚽️🎯📢 TOTAL DECLARED 📢🎯⚽️

Everyone here at Lowery's Lads are thrilled to confirm that the minimum* amount raised from the game against Black Cats of Italy is a staggering £1,740.

Given we were stagnant at £300 a few short weeks ago, to have reached that total is nothing short of incredible.

Once JustGiving remove their percentage from Crowdfunding processing fees, we estimate that both Red Sky Foundation and The Bradley Lowery Foundation will be the recipients of around £800 each.

These events do not work without the support of the community as a whole, and we genuinely can not thank you all enough for continuing to back us in the way that you do.

Once the fund closes and money is received, we will send the totals across to two incredible causes.

Some cracking footage from todays Charity Match between Lowery's Lads FC and Black Cats of Italy shot by SR5 Media. There's even 2 angles of me missing a last minute sitter 🤦‍♂️

On a more serious note, we managed to have a class day out raising money for both The Bradley Lowery Foundation and Red Sky Foundation and smashed our initial target of £1,000!!!

Over the moon to say we have officially smashed the target for tomorrow's charity match

Earlier on today, we passed our £1,000 target for tomorrow's event.

A summary will be posted tomorrow evening but for now we would just like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us reach our goal.

🔴🔴PLEASE SHARE🔴🔴

We're now only one week out from the Lowery's Lads FC vs Black Cats of Italy game, in aid of The Bradley Lowery Foundation and Red Sky Foundation, hosted at Sunderland RCA.

We're just over half way to our target of £1,000.

We know we batter everyone's heads multiple times a year because of charity exploits but if anyone can dig their pockets and throw some spare change our way, it'd be massively appreciated.

The work the BLF and Red Sky do in and around the local community, and indeed further afield, is simply incredible. We want to raise as much as we can to help these two amazing causes, but we can't do it without the help of the community itself.

Times are tough, we understand that, so even if you can't spare a few bob, a share of this post or even just supporting the boys on the day goes a hell of a long way.
