At Saturday’s Swadlincote Small Business Showcase, I had a rare quiet moment when a business owner waved me over for a quick bit of advice.

He said, “I know you haven’t got long – what’s your absolute best tip for boosting my social media?”

Set aside time each week to plan your content.
Even if you don’t create the posts right then and there, having a clear plan makes your marketing more intentional and much less stressful.

That way, you’re not just posting for the sake of it – you’re sharing content that actually means something to your audience.

Planning purposeful content in advance is one of the most effective things you can do for your social media success.

That’s not to say you can’t post those ad-hoc creative moments; behind-the-scenes snaps, spontaneous thoughts, or those little in-the-moment wins are brilliant too. But with a plan in place, you’re showing up consistently, even when things get busy – and that’s what really makes a difference.

That's my very best tip for social media. Not jumping on the latest trends, or using complicated scheduling tools, but simply getting strategic and intentional with your marketing.

Swadlincote Businesses, here's an idea for you:

After working closely with the local council and Swadlincote Markets team, I know there are exciting plans in the pipeline to revamp and refresh Swadlincote Market and I genuinely think some of you fantastic local businesses should get involved. 🙌
