So last Monday, I got word that a lady has had some re pointing done. The builder then failed to finish the job, return to clean up the mortar mess and reattach the cabling. I just can't stand that kind of workmanship so I got in touch with her and offered to help at least with the cabling while another builder also popped round to offer help with the brickwork.

The quality of the pointing was awful so what should have been a 10 minute job pinning the Virgin Media and drop wire, it took over half an hour. Not that that matters.

I didn't charge a penny. It's just not in my nature. I like to help people, it's just what I do. Especially when they've already been let down.

Lovely little job in the sun last week for a great customer 🌞
BT master socket relocated to a more convenient location, extra data port for a bedroom and BT drop wire repair and tidy up. My favourite job of the week!

At RMC, the most common type of work we do is cabling. From tidying, extending and complete new installations. AV, data, coax and now electrics too. Most of the photos we post are of TVs. That's because our cabling work is very rarely even visible!

If possible, I will always do a home visit before quoting and agreeing all work to be carried out. This makes sure I can see where I can hide any new cabling infrastructure and give your home a clean and tidy new finish.

15 years in the telecomms trade and now have my own qualifications and training in electrical installations!

Tilted or flat? A majority of people have their new TV mounted higher than it would be sitting on the legs on top of a unit. This makes tilting much more convenient and practical. However, if the install is roughly the same height as a standing TV, a fixed/flat mount can be used, further reducing the cost of the installation!

Ask for different options and I will always give all options and my opinion of the best solution. 😁

This is the first electrical job since going self employed as RMC TV & Network Services! An additional socket so everything is hidden, once it's plastered anyway. Fully tested, signed off and certificate issued. Two TVs were also fitted, including the one in the pictures below. 😁

The heat certainly made it a little bit longer than usual, especially the loft work but a lovely customer being happy with it always makes it worth it!

We are officially qualified! 😁

With our new level 2 qualification in electrical installations, we will now be offering minor electrical work alongside telecomms. For an example, if you have a TV fitted on the wall, we can also add a socket behind to hide all cables. All work will be tested with high tech equipment to IET standards and a certificate will be issued showing all test results for safety (legal requirement).

So many of you have asked but I would not risk yours or my own safety as I didn't have the equipment to properly test any installation or the training to do so. Well... now I have! 😁

Wow! Last week was certainly a busy one so just a repost from some of my previous jobs for now 😅
