The Swansea Edit

The Swansea Edit We’re changing our name from We Are Your Local Swansea Bay to The Swansea Edit. Starting something is never easy, but nothing worthwhile doing ever is! Natalie

📖 Sharing stories, places, and people that make our city special.
☕ Independent, community-minded, and rooted in real life. It feels like a big step, but it’s one that truly captures who we are and where we’re headed. This change isn’t just about a fresh name – it’s about bringing the heart of Swansea right to you, with both a magazine and

an online space dedicated to celebrating our communities, and our local, independent businesses. I’ve always wanted to create something that truly reflects Swansea’s vibrancy, and the people and places that make this city so special and I truly believe The Swansea Edit allows us to do that. Our focus will remain on championing small and local businesses alongside sharing stories and news events from all across Swansea. I’ll admit, there’s been moments of anxiety, nerves, and doubts, but above all, I am so excited and dare I say it, proud to be bringing our magazine to Swansea’s locals. So here I am, bringing a monthly dose of positivity to the doorsteps of Swansea’s residents, wrapped up in 52 glossy pages of inspiring, interesting and valuable content. To everyone who’s been with us so far – thank you! This new chapter is all about deepening our connections and continuing to share Swansea’s incredible stories. To our advertisers old and new, I am so proud to be working with you. Your investment in our magazine enables us to bring it to our readership free, allowing us to reach as many locals as we can without the barrier of cost to buy. To our amazing features writers and contributors - I cannot thank you for having such enthusiasm and excitement for the magazine. I am so elated to have you with us; each one of you brings something fresh to our magazine and for that I am forever grateful. And to my one and only Tony, who quite simply is my calm in the storm. My graphic design whizz, the one who has to listen to all my ramblings, rantings, doubts and crazy ideas. Without him the magazine would just be a pipe dream. You are simply the best. My best decision ever. Here’s to The Swansea Edit, to all of you, and to the journey ahead.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

As we come to the end of our first full year as a magazine, we wanted to pause and say thank you. Launching The Swansea Edit and seeing it grow over the past year has been both exciting and, at times, challenging. Running your own business is never easy, and there are moments when it can feel overwhelming, but we have been continually met with kindness, encouragement and genuine support.

For every comment, share, message and kind word, thank you. Thank you for having faith in what we are building, for supporting a new magazine rooted in Swansea, and for choosing to be part of this journey with us. Your support has not only helped us establish the magazine in its first year, it is helping us build something lasting for our family.

We wish you a Christmas filled with love, laughter and time with those you hold closest. Thank you for sticking with us, for showing up for us, and for being such a generous and supportive community.

Here’s to 2026, and a year of continued growth, health, happiness and new beginnings.

Nadolig Llawen!

Big love,
Natalie, Tony, Conor, Tom, Joseph, Oliver, William, Ads & Sean 🩷

Christmas is not one feeling.

We are proud to be working in partnership with , whose latest article in our most recent issue gently explores Christmas, the pressure it can bring, and the conflicting emotions many of us experience at this time of year.

There is no right way to feel.
No obligation to be cheerful.
No pressure to perform joy.

If this season feels heavy for you, go gently.

Save this for when you need it.

There’s something we never tire of doing - welcoming new independent businesses to our city.

We’re delighted to say that has chosen Swansea as their new home, bringing with them beautifully prepared, truly sumptuous seafood, made to be shared and enjoyed together.

Swansea’s food scene continues to thrive because of independents like this. Businesses that arrive with care, confidence, and a genuine love for what they do. We’re proud to see them joining our growing food community.

🦞 THE GIVEAWAY 🦞

To celebrate their arrival, we’re giving one duo the chance to win a seafood sharing platter for two at Rock and Scallop! The perfect way to spend time in the new year, with someone special, enjoying some of the best food to come to Swansea.

Please join Joseph’s Smile at Midday on Christmas Eve, and ring out a bell for heaven. We will be ringing our bells and remembering those children who are spending their Christmas in heaven.

CHRISTMAS EVE BELLS

Please join us this Christmas Eve from 11am at St Catherine's Church & Sunday School Brynamman for a festive bell ringing service to remember and celebrate all children spending Christmas in Heaven.
It will be a beautiful morning to begin the festivities, with a special performance by Moli Edwards and Father Christmas will make a quick stop before he heads off on his travels. He will have some goodies with him for all the children and maybe a mince pie for the grown ups.

Please bring a bell if you can, but not to worry, we will have some available for those who don't have one.

We truly hope you can join us at this incredibly special festive event, standing alongside bereaved parents, showing them that they are not alone and their children will always be remembered.

We are so grateful for you all. Diolch 💚

It’s been a little quieter on here, but life behind the scenes has been anything but. Between creating, editing and delivering the newest copies of The Swansea Edit, and a whirlwind trip to Texas to see family, the days have been full in the best possible way.

I’m back home now and firmly back in the swing of things in Swansea. There’s a lot that goes into bringing each issue to life, from writing original articles to working closely with our brilliant contributors to make sure every feature feels right for them and for you.

I’m also delighted to say we’ve welcomed two new contributors to the magazine, and I’ll be introducing you to them very soon. Fresh voices always bring fresh energy, and I can’t wait for you to meet them.

Thank you for your patience while I stepped back for a moment. It means the world to know you’re still here, still reading, still supporting this little magazine that continues to grow because of our community.

Here’s to fresh pages, new stories and a very busy editor who’s grateful to be home.

Did you know, you can now pick up a copy of our magazine at some of our city’s car showrooms?

We’re really pleased to be available at:

Swansea.

We’re so excited to be bringing our incredible magazine to a whole new audience of loyal customers and new car buyers, at some of our city’s most well known car dealerships. Plus our resident petrol head is bringing us another ‘electrifying’ Revved Up article this issue - any guesses on which car they’ll be sharing with us?

Buckle up and read all about it, in our upcoming edition 🚗

We are Gower

So what’s it all about, Alfie?

Well, grab a coffee, pull up a chair and we’ll begin.

Once upon a time, in deepest, darkest Gower, there lived a woman, her husband, their five sons, and their mad ball-loving Spaniel.

The woman’s days were filled with Transformers, Minecraft, football (she loved that), sweaty socks and dirty trainers. Life was good, busy, chaotic even, but she always felt she could do more. More for herself. More for their family. More for their community.
