There will be a lighting of a Beacon to mark VJ Day 80 years on tonight at 9.30pm in Central Park.

Residents of Syston gathered this morning to remember those who served in the far East during WW2 with a short service 2 minutes silence and laying of wreaths. Today is VJ Day 80 years on.
