AN Old Coach Inn (Teesside)
It was a cold, wet Sunday in June 2015, a late start to the summer when GSI Paranormal and myself entered an old coach inn, in a historic town in Teesside. This location had been built back in the late 1700's and served the travelers passing through on the outskirts of North Yorkshire for over 300 years.
The pub was closed to the public as it was after closing time. A very friendly landlord showed me around his lovely, cozy pub and hotel. Still with some of its original features, more so in the hotel side of it. As the team and myself walked through the large ground floor of the Inn, I was made aware of a Spirit gentleman who was also aware of our presence. This Gentleman was back and forth in visitations due to his connections to the pub. As the landlord, Mike lead Vicky, Jan, (GSI) and myself through to the back, to a staircase which took us to the 1st floor. This was the hotel side of this location, on a small landing area of the stairs, as they turned to lead up another small flight, I stopped and sensed a small girl. She was no older than 7/8 years of age, in spirit, playing with some very old toys that I would place around mid-1800s.
As we reached the 1st floor and stood in the corridor with all the doorways to the hotel rooms. Mike the landlord then said, "we have had lots of reports to a certain room which customers reported a negative feel or sense of sadness". (You have to consider that old building like this one are all prone to the Stone Tape Theory), more so this one as its large, thick walls are of sandstone. You also have to remember; we are all clairsentient too. We all have our senses and pick up on buildings or rooms when we walk in them.
I stood in the corridor connecting to the layers of yesteryear and residual energy. I was drawn to a door way at the end and said to Mike, "I want to enter that room". He took me to this door with the number 3 on it and unlocked it. I walked into this room and immediately sensed the sadness. I was shown very quickly a violent struggle between a male and female within this room, a high pitched females screams sent shivers down my spine. I asked my Spirit Guide "what was this I'm seeing", which he then said to me, this lady was attacked in this room, as she was doing the house keeping for this hotel.
Vicky and Jan then unpack some of the Paranormal Gadgets, placing them on the bed, hoping to make a connection with what I had just informed them. We spent around half an hour within this room, where I made a good connection with this lady who told me her name was Margaret. Through my gift as a Medium, she explained to me she had worked within the hotel as a house keeper, cleaning some 15 rooms whiles her daughter sat outside, in the corridor, playing until her shift had finished. I had asked for a time period from my guide and was given the late 1800s between 1850 to 1890. Towards the end of the stay in room 3, I asked her who was the man attacking you? Margaret said "I will only speak with a female". I informed the Girls of this and Mike and myself left the room whilst Jan and Vicky continued to make a connection with the equipment.
I then entered the Bar area of the pub again where I summoned the spirit gentleman to come forward. I beckoned him for around 10 to 15 minutes where I was at a point of given up, when this strong character presence of this male in spirit entered the room. This male was not happy with the noise within this pub and I guess he was thinking it was still the 1800s. Vicky and Jan had now joined Mike and Myself. Setting up the K2 meter, EVP and the Ovullis on the bar. I asked for a name of this gentleman and my Guide told me 'William'. Out loud I asked for a surname, and not only did this male say very loud to me 'ORD' but later we discovered that the EVP had captured a male’s voice saying 'ORD' too. We found out through researching his name that Mr. William Ord was one of many landlords who had run this Public House in the 1800s.
We closed the night off, recapping on the information and evidence and presented it all to Mike. thanking him for his hospitality and left in high SPIRITS. Later within the week whilst going through our voice recordings and video footage. A recording from the EVP that was left on the Bar, picked up whilst the group were talking about the night’s events. We hear a young girls voice say MOTHER.
A return was inevitable.

Whilst filming through the year with many paranormal company’s and productions for Sky TV, I came across two males who had a tremendous passion for the paranormal field and who were genuine in all what there did, not forgetting the evidence they brought to the table. After working alongside these two guys (Shane and Andrew) at a very haunted Air Museum in Doncaster, we decided to expand the GSI North East paranormal team, there for creating the GSI West Yorkshire. The GSI Family.
Tuesday the 7th day of June, 2016. One year on from our first visit. Very excited and now with our GSI Family. We arrived once again at the old coach inn in a historic Teesside town. Bizarrely on the same date one year on. We met Shane and Andrew with their Guest Joanne in the pubs car park and together all carried our boxes into this haunted location. Some days before the landlord Mike had contacted me regarding more paranormal activity in and around the hotel, mainly Rm 3 again.
Once we were all set up and our paranormal gadgets positioned at the key spots within the pub/hotel we decided to start in the bar area. As a Medium I started to pick up on the residual energy which had once graced itself in this grand building. I started to ask for Mr William ORD. Knowing that this gentleman came back and forth in visitations due to his landlord connections, I thought it was a good place to start. I was made aware of a male coming forward from spirit and asked my guide to welcome him and bring his energy closer. As I connected with this male I sensed that I was dealing with a different male, not Mr Ord who I initially spoke to. This male was a different character to ORD all together. He brought with him a negative feel too. It took a little while to strike up a strong link with this male, where I would place him, connected with this location around the late 1800’s. I was given the feeling that this male would have made sure he got his money’s worth out of your work and followed you around the building check you were not slacking.
We made our way up to the 1st floor entering Rm 3. The group settled on the beds, making sure the Connect 360 had an uninterrupted view of myself whilst I connected to spirit again. As we made ourselves comfortable I was aware of this male from down stairs had followed us up and was within the corridor directly outside the room. His energy was very strong and somewhat distracting at times whilst trying to clear my thoughts. I asked again for help from my guide and the name was given to me as Chas’. Not understanding what Chas’ was short for I asked for his full name and the gentleman replied ‘Charles’. I felt that Charles would have been a strong presence within this location, not only in his afterlife but when he was on this earth plane too. I then asked for the surname of Charles and symbolically shown the Egyptian Sphinx, and with a little help from my Texan Cowboy spirit guide he spelt it out to me, S.P.I.N.K.S, which I repeated twice. At this Andrew our Audio Tech member said he believed he had just caught a Class A EVP. We paused to replay this catch and hear a male’s voice say Spinks seconds before I repeat my thoughts.
Whilst still all in Rm 3 the Connect 360 then maps out a second figure on the monitor next to myself, but slightly higher in the shot, maybe stood on the bed or was this his way of portraying his mightiness presence. Although I did not feel Charles stood directly next to me I was still making a good connect with his energy. I asked my guide was this man connected with ‘Margaret’ the house keeper, the lady who was attacked within this room. My guide replied ‘Mr. Spinks had often followed and watched Margaret around the upper level of this building and on one occasion, attacked her, here in this room’. I was also show a snippet of time regarding the attack, but the details need not be mentioned, with respect.
After a short break to retune my thoughts and recharge my energy levels we continued the investigation on the ground floor within the bar again. I noticed a small grainy black and white picture on the wall. It was this hotel. Taken at the front around late 1800s. I don’t recall seeing this on my last visit but the landlord confirmed it had been hung in the bar area for some time. Within the picture was a male and female plus a small child next to some large stone steps which had been placed near the coach entrance allowing people to mount the horses or carriages. The steps are still outside the location, still one of its original features. Although the people within this photo did not resemble the spirit connections I’d had on both visits, my thoughts were taken to the little girl who I had connected too on the stairs and playing whilst her mother (Margaret) cleaned the hotels rooms.
As the night events came to a close I started to meditate to connect with Spinks once again. I was shown a church and grave yard. I remotely viewed walking up to a large grave which appeared to be a family plot. Although the image wasn’t as clear as most of my Remote Viewing due to my tiredness the names Ann and John stood out along with Charles as well. Asking for my guide to assist my thoughts, he replied these are the parents of Charles who were laid to rest not too far from here.
As we left this location I walked to the front of this pub and placed my hands onto the large stone steps. I felt a crushing feeling to my head and torso and saw a beautiful young girl aged 7yrs been killed in this exact location. Trapped Between the Coach entrance were she had fell from the steps whilst waiting for her Mother.
